1964 The only way then i used to enjoy the latest pop music seriously was when Adlams or coles fun fair come to town
I remember being in a dodgem car and hearing Otis Redding respect for the first time pounding over the Tannoy. How wonderful it sounded.
We used to frequent cafes then. Cafes had jukeboxes they were a source of inspiration. how I loved jukeboxes.
I have not put any money in one for so many years i cant remember the last Record i paid for to hear.
My sister and brothers were much older than me i was born 1951. They used to go to twist and jive on Saturday night with a local beat group on a Saturday night. The pub was not the main institution. As many people would enjoy sitting in the cafe all night as sit in pubs.
My love of the Beatles ends around the magical mystery Tour album afterwards for me it was all down hill from then onward sure i heard abbey road but its just my personal opinion.
BTW i was fortunate enough to be taken to see the Beatles play at Bournemouth Gaumont cinema in westover road 1963 we saw the stones there to The Beatles played in what called a package tour. sounds incorporated Tommy quickly the Fourmost billy j Kramer . Did any one else see them there too?
