Now that Crossroads has ended Emmerdale is my fave UK soap. It doesn't take itself too seriously and it has a bit of an escapist feel to it which is nice. The acting certainly isn't any worse than Corrie or Eastenders.

It would have a hell of a long way to drop to be as bad as EE

Please give an example of the incest

I like Emmerdale a lot, just not as much as Corrie!

It has had some good storylines this past year, but I wish ITV would cut it back down to 3 or 4 nights a week, 6 is ridiculas!

I agree, three nights a week would be a lot better. Lately I find myself missing episodes although it's very easy to catch up with Emmerdale if you miss any.

Im exactly the same, I miss episodes because 6 nights a week is too much to keep up with.

Angel1508uk "as if anyone is going to believe that old people act really childish and get their friends to run over to a shed with them to pretend to measure them up to build their coffin"

I am sorry to disappoint you but I am fortunate to know old people who enjoy life and enjoy still acting like a kid, I do myself and my Father-in-law and brother as well (trust me we are no spring chickens).

I really like Emm as it is light hearted, doesn't take itself too seriously and is entertaining. I have only ever seen 1/2 an episode of EE and fortunately there was someone on hand to stop me slitting my wrists.

You must not be reading the same posts as everyone else. Apart from Corrie Emmerdale is one of the most popular soaps on tV

So any of the storylines involving Charity sleeping with either of her cousins. Charity sleeping with both Chris and Zoe. The fact that they all live in the same house. And wasn't there some revelation that one of the son's fathers wasn't who he thought he was? i can't remember!

Is there a petition going around to move TOTP2 to a different timeslot ?
Like during EE ?

I watch Emmerdale on and off (rather than without fail like Corrie). It's about on a par with Eastenders in terms of 'realism' (eg Tricia Bollywood plot -- but at least I can see the writers falling about laughing when they thought that up, rather than the excruciting Mo-rape-plot in EE devised to get another pregnant actress off-set). So at least it does have some humour, even though there are a lot of irritations (Lorraine Chase again).

I liked and watched it regularly during Bernice's initial reign -- loved her character. Hasn't been the same (for me) since she went. 'It just happens to be on' is how I feel about it - if it disappeared for ever I wouldn't be bothered.

About Shadrack, does Chastity like him after all ?
I thought she hated him but the other day there was quite a touching scene involving him and her.

But Charity isn't a blood relative of Chris or Zoe so how can it be incest? And technically Charity sleeping with Cain and Marlon isn't incest either as cousins can legally marry.

Technically 'Incest' does not only mean blood related, Charity sleeping with any member of her own family (one cousin is a bit weird, TWO of her cousins - without using protection?!!!) or a brother and sister of the same family, i would say was 'improperly interconnected'. In fact, even a group of friends who interchange partners could be described as incestuous. English lesson over - Does anyone know if Charity tries to get Noah/Christopher back at any point?
