I loved her up until that awful music album then went off her, the confessions was great, now gone really off her again.

I still love her. I just think it's a shame that she doesn't seem to be doing much of amazing quality anymore. I think she really needs to hook up with some of today's big producers (like she did with Timbaland for "4 Minutes") and come back with a monster album.

I always think it's best to end your career at a high. Unfortunately she seems to be slipping away as an artist...but of course, she'll always be remembered as an icon and a superstar.

I don't really like her to be honest music wise. I just think it was awful the whole R&B thing she did with her last album. Stick to Dance pop Madonna.

I think Madonna will always be held in high regard, however her last album was a disappointment as a pure Madonna album - as a standard pop album it was fine, great even - however when you have Like a Prayer, Ray of Light, Music and Confessions under your belt...people expect better.

As for wether people still like her or not...shes the most famous woman in the world, she will never flop when it comes to sales and millions of people flock to see her when she tours. Not bad if you ask me.

I love her, not fussed on Hard Candy though.

Favourites are Like a Prayer, Erotica and American Life.

I also think Sorry is one of the best pop/dance songs ever written.

This. And even this in part (not totally sold on Ray of Light either).

I do not like her as a person.

I don't really like her as a person. She come across right up her own backside. Plus i've read loads of stories on people meeting her and being rude

James morrison went over to say Hello and she looked at him like he was a right piece of crap on the floor and was saying "who is this, who is this, what do you want, who is this" This wasn't a story. I actually heard it from his own mouth on a radio show last year.

Madonna will always be great! And I love the fact she still can be a diva! BUT Hard Candy wasn't that good compared to Confessions or even American Life. For me Erotica and Bedtime Stories are her best!

See that does sound bad, but at the same time how long has she been going for? almost 30 years, massive for most of that time. Imagine 30 years of being unable to go to any event without someone trying to crawl up to you to get something on you or from you and I think the attitude of wanting to know why someone is approaching her is somewhat justified. No idea what was happening when he was going up to her either, could have been about to perform, perhaps just performed, just having a bad day. Just because she's the Queen of Pop doesn't mean she has to be "on" 24/7 for anyone who wants a quick autograph.

I still like her, Hard Candy isn't her best work, but personally I actually like it better as an album than Confessions, although Confessions definitely had the stronger singles.

I doubt she'll ever reach the heights of Like a Virgin or Vogue again, but that still shouldn't take away from the fact what she's producing every few years is still a cut above the majority of acts out there at the moment. Unfortunately for her though, the comparisons are always there and she's never going to live up to them again I don't think

That is a poor excuse and he wasn't going over to ask for an autograph.

I like her because of her complete body of work. Same with MJ, Bowie, Prince etc.

Madonna isn't really my cup of tea, but damn does this woman know how to reinvent herself. I think everyone has to have one Madonna song that they like even if they don't want to admit it.

Nor me, she can be a right bitch.
And she always looks like she has yesterdays knickers on inside out.

I am a big fan of Madonna's work pre 2002-ish.

I have the Immaculate Collection and GHV2 and they are among my favourite albums in my collection and I must have listened to them a million times each.

I had mixed opinions of the "Music" era. Haven't really liked her music since then - with a few exceptions. I would really like to see her do a mature pop album and quit with the jumping around trying to be 22. Ray of Light was a great period for Madonna.

I think it's virtually impossible for any artist(s) to produce consistently high quality for a period longer than about 15 years or so.

I liked both Music and Ray of Light. Confessions on a Dance Floor I've only listened to a few times and it didn't really grab me. Not heard Hard Candy.

My favourites are probably True Blue and Like a Prayer.

Very true actually.

Interesting in the mainstream only The Beatles and Abba, maybe Queen with Freddie (IMO-although there maybe others) have a whole body of work that is genuinly looked up on with affection and holds inconic global status-reason-short careers in comparison to the others at this level of stardom and length of career.I always felt she should have quit after Evita because (excluding Ray of Light) the warnings lights we already flashing for me with Bedtime Stories.

The Stones, Bee Gees, Bowie, Prince, Mc Cartney and Elton are classic examples of this as is poor old Whitney. And there was of course MJ.

But they don't quit because music is what they do. They would be bored otherwise.

True but-she did'nt necessarily have to quit the music business. As an entertainer (ie concerts) she is still at the top of her game.
