Is Hollyoaks now using the Brookside Close houses as part of their set?

Sorry if this has maybe been mentioned before, but I turned on Hollyoaks tonight for the first time in quite a while. And Debbie was being walked home by a guy and walked up to a house and it looked a lot like one of the Brookside houses. You could also see other houses round about. I know Hollyoaks was made by the same company as Brookside so it is not impossible that it was Brookside Close. Did anyone else see it and notice it too?

yes they are, and have been for some time!

these shows are filmed on a small budget and using the same sets/houses for different shows is a very comon thing.

So thats why they wanted to axe brookside!!!! so they could use the houses for hollyoaks filming! it all makes sense now! i remember when i was young thinking that soap pubs / houses were real and that the people who lived there left their houses between 9 - 5 to allow filming and that the background artists were real people who were told not to look at the camera while they were filming. then i watched a soap behind the scenes programme a few years back and it ruined everything for me! lol

The Brookside (now Hollyoaks) houses are real houses - they don't use any sets unlike Corrie, EE, and every other soap. Thats why the camera can follow them inside/outside the house - somthing which wouldn't be possible in the other soaps.

They started using Brookside Close in Hollyoaks just before Brookside ended, if anyone remembers the drug-dealer in the last few episodes of Brookside, you never saw the inside of his house because it had been changed into a house for Hollyoaks.
