I must be completely out of sync with the rest of the Nation regarding taste in music (and/or personalities).

From the first live show (top 24), Alex was my favorite Guy, and Lacey was my favorite Girl (for both voices and personalities).

Although every performance may not have been 100% perfect, they were the two that I thought were likable, unique, tons of potential... And more importantly for the show, the two I looked forward to seeing their performance- particularly Alex.

At this rate, the next 3 eliminated will be (Casey, Didi, and Tim). Followed by (Lee, Siobhan & Crystal).

Am I completely out of touch, or are the results (or lack of) more a reflection of various voting demographics?

No, you're not. I thought Alex had something really special about him and had him pegged for at least the top 5.
There's apparently a petition to get him back going round in America. It won't work, but it shows that the public have actually taken to him.

Lacey, I really liked her too, she seemed really sweet, and I actually really enjoyed her performances.

Also, I really liked Katelyn and Todrick, and liked Lily, Joe and Janell.

Bad season for me!

Nope.. you are not alone.. Alex was clearly better than Tim and deserved a spot in the top 12.. but its all down to the those votes now..

We all have years where our favourites do well and years where they don't. Jordin and David Cook were both my favourites (David joint with KLC) but last year I liked Arianna Afsar, after she left I did like Scott but was also pleased with the two finalists

This year, Siobhan's my favourite. I wasn't much of an Alex or Lacey fan myself, but preferred Todrick, Janell, Joe, Lilly and Katelyn to various members of the actual top 12. I'd like to see Tim eliminated next

Not bothered about Lacey, she may have been warm and cute, not unlike a smiling guinea pig, but vocally I couldn't understand why she was in the finals.

Alex's departure was a shock though. Tonally he was the best of the males. Though they highlighted his lack of confidence I think most of it was down to song choice rather than singer, and he chose (or was given) a god-awful song.

Alex had a superb voice and Lacey had a very nice voice IMO

BUT neither had good performance skills. They both made me feel uncomfortable watching them

Shame though as both were way better than Tim and probably Andrew too

I wouldn't worry, I get the winner I want in these things so flipping rarely I feel like letting off fireworks when someone I want actually manages to win something. My usual kiss of death for contestants is pretty awesome

At the moment I'm fully expecting Tim to win, with Andrew as runner up with my favourite Crystal and second fav Siobhan leave in 7th and 8th places

I really liked Alex as well, thought he had loads of potential
