I have seriously become a fan of this group, they've made the song better and maybe a club hit.

Still gives me the creeps knowing who attempted (and failed) to sing it first.

The song wasn't a turd in the first place. It's ok..the original is still better.

In your opinion, in mine it was shite.

I like Delphic (especially the songs Doubt and Counterpoint, which are brilliant) but I think the original version of 3 words is much better than this version. It is generally a very good song - hypnotic, beautiful chord changes and great production (although the lyrics could be better.) The fact that it's by Cheryl Cole is doesn't automatically make it shit.

Once again your opinion.

I agree, but on the otherhand the fact that the lyrics were quite simple and sparse also fitted the mood of the song perfectly.

And if you think Will.I.am is a fantastic producer, you should listen to Frankmusik's sample of a Fleetword Mac song, the similarities are uncanny!

Yes I agree, I think that kind of simplicity in lyrics often works well and don't think these lyrics are terrible, it's just rhymes like "you are the man of my dreams, you saved me from drowning in the streams" seem all too convenient.

The lyrics go absolutely nowhere, Delphic probably knew this and decided to make it sound as if you could have a spliff to it or something.

And a better mix of the song, the previous one didnt blend together well

I don't think that's relevant to this at all, though. The song we're talking about, 3 Words, sounds nothing like Frankmusik, it's the sparse sound and acoustic guitar backing that makes it work well. I didn't even know Will.I.Am had produced this to be honest but it's a credit to him that he did.

Did you honestly think it was shite, or did you not like it because it was Cheryl Cole?

I'm guessing the latter, as having listened to Delphic's version, it isn't drastically different from the original. Infact, the structure of the song is exactly the same. Whilst I'm a fan of Delphic, all they've done is added a few more bells and whistles on top, which doesn't necessarily improve the track. The subtlety of the original is what made it so great... in my opinion, ofcourse.

Ok if you really want me to, IMO, Will.I.am is one of the worst producers going, and I wasnt on about 3 words, you said it was produced great, I disagree, its far from it, all he did was start of with a few strums of the songs key (C minor) and if you're just starting out on acoustic guitar thats one of the first chords you learn, and put together a simplistic beat which after only 4 minutes becomes tedious feels like 40 minutes, it sounds like a demo of someone just getting to grips with Reason/Fruity Loops and they had to hand it in to their teacher.

He has allegedly plagiarised DJ Adam Freeland (or has he's known just Freeland), Frankmusik, Groundation, and I could go on, but for me I believe he did because the tracks are too similar for an audiophile.

I'm sure Cheryl could bring out a good album, but Will.I.am is the wrong person to go to.

Being able to use complicated techniques and having musical talent are two completely separate things. Simplicity and repetition and being able to use them in the right way are very important in pop and dance music and it is exactly this that makes the song beautiful. I was very struck by it the first time I heard it. I don't really know what Will.I.Am's production style sounds like in general and don't really care about who he's plagerised, I just know that I really like this song. I think it has been very skillfully produced and has a unique sound. Fair enough if you don't like it but there are a lot of people who do.

Good stuff, they've done justice to a brilliant song by a crap popstar.

Cheryl acutally wrote the song with will.i.am (which is why the lyrics are very simple)

and this cover is just as shit as the original, why anyone would chose to cover it I've no idea

££££££ - some Biffa fans might like it, maybe not all though (but there are quite a few Biffa fans).Delphic have latched onto the Snow Patrol / Biffa collaboration - Indie meets celebrity pop type of thing. Not at all sure about Delphic's Indie credibility in the first place even though - their first inclination is towards dance music anyway.

Objective failed then if you are right.

I heard that there was a Fleetwood Mac comparison with this song. What about the more obvious :-

Air - All I Need - Moon Safari (album)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkgfmWfJ11s
Biffa - 3 words
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qT4t99xnkQ0

When Biffa sings - 'I love you' chorus it sounds remarkably like the Air track - 'ahhhhh oooohh wahhhh' bit.

Check it out.

The original was only good because of the backing track. The lyrics and singing ruined it.

I see that people are saying the lyrics don't have to be good in that particular song, but come on - lines like "I L-O-V-E Y-O-U I'm so into you girl, M-E T-O-O" and the chorus 'I love you, I love you, I love you, you are the love of my life' are appalingly bad, a 7-year-old could write them. It doesn't suit the song's style at all.

Wow Delphic are god's. I hated the original with a passion but this is way better and I love it. These boys have the right attitude and have real talent!

Talk about polishing a Turd couldn't have put it better myself!

DISCLAIMER: Only my opinion (before the Cheryl mob decide to lynch me)
