I dunno Hollyoaks and EE are two very different soaps. I thought Brookie was a great soap even up to the point when it was axed, Channel 4 were determined for it to fail as they wanted rid of it, probably to make way for Shattered or Fit Club or whatever reality shite they've replaced it with. EastEnders is an older soap, aimed at an older audience and I think Phil Redmond could do wonders with it. Providing he doesn't go too over the top he could be the best thing to happen to EE in a while. Mal Young was also a fantastic producer on EastEnders so he must hate Berridge for the pigs ear she's made of it lol
The storylines he did in the final days of Brookie included a young boy finding drugs his irresponsible teen uncle left about, he took them and was found unconcious, he showed child abuse, bullying, has done fantastic storylines about drug abuse and addicts. These are the type of issues that EastEnders could do brilliantly but instead seem to focus on building couples up with boring unrealistic storylines only to tear them apart with even sillier sensational affairs, an death after death. The only decent storyline EE have done in the past two years was the Janine prostitution storyline. Even Phil Mitchell's exit was ballsed up and Dirty Den's return, don't get me started on that. Although he seems to have settled in well on his second return.
