Biffa - 3 words / Air - All I Need comparison - What do you think

Plagarism ???

Air - All I Need - Moon Safari (album)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkgfmWfJ11s
Biffa - 3 words
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qT4t99xnkQ0

When Biffa sings - 'I love you' chorus it sounds remarkably like the Air track - 'ahhhhh oooohh wahhhh' bit.

Check it out.

I agree it does sound similar, but only slightly. Some songs are bound to sound similar to others. Perhaps they unconsciously sampled it? Or asked permission to use the tune, I don't know.

PS: Who is biffa?

Biffa the toilet lady basha

Unconscious - blatant rip off I would say.I always thought there was something familiar with the song only just realised what it was.I thought of Air but wasn't sure which song it was - turned out it was an Air track that got into the top 40 in 1998.

Noticed it instantly, Cheryl needs to find a better producer than Will.I.am, he's terrible.

Yet becoming mates with him got her a top 5 hit as well as a supporting act slot for his group Black eyed peas, the biggest group about. He can't be that bad.

Google the amount of lawsuits they've had for plagiarism,

Most of their popular songs are covers, they have little originality. The guitar intro in "Pump it" is from Miserlou off the soundtrack to Pulp Fiction.

Will.I.am cannot write any song without interpolating another artist's composition.

Although I like Fergie solo, London Bridge is a grower for me, mind you thats probably because will.i.am didnt produce the song.

There is absolutley no comparison between these songs- one is an ambient classic, the other is a cheap and souless pop creation.

Downtempo you mean.I wasn't comparing the quality of the two tracks - there isn't one really. All I am saying is that the Biffa track tries to steal the feel of the Air track in some parts - fails by a long way. Also the parts of the tune in All I Need are used in 3 words - again those copied parts come over as a second rate.

I believe "Biffa" comes from Biffa Bacon, the geordie Viz character.

I'm not sure where Biffa came from. I first came across it when I saw that showbiz guy, Ian Hyland, think he works for NOTW refer to Cheryl as "Biffa Cole" in his column.
