Sorry if this is a Silly Question

I have a Sagem myx5 mobile on a Vodafone contract.

I would like to change to a PAYG sim when my contract ends. I have read about phones being 'locked' and possibly needing software etc to unlock.

I have tried an O2 PAYG card and it works fine but does the phone only become locked when my line is disconnected when I cancel my contract?

Or does the fact that it works at the moment mean it will be fine without needing to be unlocked?

I would be grateful for any advice.

If it accepts an O2 SIM with your phone on vodafone you can put in any network SIM, the phone dors not come locked when you cancel the contract you account will go, then you put in a pay as you talk sim or change the agreement, or put in any other network SIM, but if you phone is locked I have heard once that putting another SIM in to another phone can freeze the phone, double check though.

Thanks for the replies.

It definately works with a friends O2 PAYG card in at the moment but it would be great if you feel that it should work with any network card as O2 was not really my 1st choice.

Thanks again.

John.
