Hi guys.

Am moving house next week, and looking at broadband providers. Having stumbled upon talk talk and its tv package, this seems like a cracking deal.

I have rung and spoken to them to get more details whilst I consider my options.

Some posts on here suggest that they are not taking on new cutomers, but the guy on the phone never said that!

Any opinions/thoughts would be great.

I live in outer London and had it installed last Tuesday, works fine with a pair of my Homeplugs and cheap as chips as well.
They fitted a new router and PVR box, up and working in 30-45 minutes.

I understood that TV was not available to new customers, only as an upgrade for existing Tiscali customers. Am I wrong?

I'm afraid not, but there's catch up programming from BBC, FX & Channel 4 as well as a number of on demand channels - including 4OD available.

I put my postcode in and was told TTV is not available in my area,Strange thing is I've had it for 2 years.
This service is bound to be a success if they don't sell it to
anyone.

I know that others have been told they can't have it when they are in a TTTV area.

We've had two engineer visits within the last 2-3 months (ie since TalkTalk took over) and both the lads said that they were doing the same, if not greater numbers of TV installations as they were before the change of ownership..

Go, as they say, figure..

It's there but you have to access it in a certain way - there's a link in another fairly recent thread

I don't have time to look for you now but it shouldn't take you hours to find it

No they are not. It's been reported here several times that TalkTalk staff are telling enquirers (new customers) that the TV is no longer available - not because they are outside the coverage areas, but because it is no longer available

When I booked this to be done I had to wait just over 2 weeks because of the workload to get an installation appointment. The nice contractor who installed it also confirmed he was very busy every day.

P.S. I was actually phoned and asked if I wanted to add TTTV to my package!!!

Yes, but you're an existing TT customer.

In any case, it looks like TT's left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Certainly the CS staff are ill-informed.

You could have left that duplicate in, Kriss - it's so nice being agreed with instead of contradicted

Others on here will think I am a plant.

Anyway, my update after two weeks use is my wife is over the moon, and my eldest Daughter does not have to bring Lost, Fringe, etc on DVDRW for the wife.
I like Eurosport, Bio, Sky Arts, etc so all in all a bargain I think.
