I get mobile insurance and travel insurance (amongst other things)included with my current account from First Direct.

You could also see if you can add it to your home insurance.

Yes my mobile amongst other items, are covered on my household insurance.

Though I know some people like it separate, so not to claim on the main one, even though you 'should' inform your other insurance compaines you have had to claim on the other. Though I don't think many do.

My phone is covered by our home content's policy, but I have Orange Care because it offers a faster replacement

Orange Care are a PITA - last claim they couldn't put it through and negletced to tell me - i had to ring them up to find out.

And the phones are refurbs, which always seam to fail on me

Plus, they've gone from a charge of Free with no excess to £5p/m with £15 excess

I'm on T-Mobile now, £4.00 a month (through TOMO) but a £25 excess... I hope it doesn't go wrong too often.

Anyone's mobile insurance cover loss?

Most don't, you just report it stolen, whilst you were in a pub or busy market area!

A few of my mates had taken out £75 insurance with The Link. With both mates it had been stolen. The Link wouldn't pay out because the phone wasn't with the user. So basicaly you had to get mugged to get a pay out. Who would have thought the link were part of the Dixons group...
