The Big Brother Olympics.

Here is yet another BB rumour presently circulating in the world of Big Brother.

'Big Brother contestants may be made to jump through hoops this year - by taking part in a mini Olympics.

TV chiefs have come up with a list of wacky ideas for the new series. And at the top are the Big Brother Olymoics - just weeks before the real games start in Athens.

Big Brother houses across the world could link up as shows will also be taking place in South Africa, Australia, Italy and America during the summer.

The games would see each of the houses host events - including the high jump, gymnastics and swimming - with contestants from the other countries flown in to compete.

An insider said: ''It would be exciting, like when our Cameron Stout switched with a South African housemate in last year's Big Brother. ''He went on to win it, so being involved in the Olympics would be great for any housemate hoping to win the £70,000 prize.''...'

Daily Star, Sunday, 04/04/04.

I think it's appalling .....

The point of BB, surely, is to isolate the HMs and to see how they interact and react over a fixed time period .....

I am totally against taking HMs out or bringing guests in ..... either changes individual exposure and the group dynamic .....

Games Without Frontiers is a different show !

I agree with you on that. The SA swap last year just gave Cam 2 weeks off from eviction and helped him win it. Just stick to the BB rules with no outside contact.

Well having them do something is a good idea. No reason why we the viewers can't see the other countries tasks, just not the HM's. Make it a seperate program.

Spot on. Let's face it last year's HM swap with BB Africa did not work.

If C4/E4 want to show us an international version of BB, that's great. But for any individual BB to work Kadeo2302's view is correct.

Leave the swaps for this year. Maybe it didn't work last year due to the housemates involved. However, in the future it might be an idea to have a Big Brother holiday home and say sent two housemates from each of the UK, USA, Australian and Africa houses for a week's break, with the twist that on their return they are both nominated for eviction.
