Hi, I am trying to install a new 1.5TB disc into my machinebut it never gets beyone the format stage (left running overnight and still going). Anyone have any tips?

If it's a hdr you have to format drives larger than 1TB externally using a linux booted PC. The hdr will only auto format drives of 1TB or smaller

The disk was formatted with the Linux EXT2 file sytem, but once installed the Foxsat still wants to format the disk, anyone got any thoughts?

EXT2 is not supported it has to be EXT3

Can you just format the entire disk to a big ext3 partition, or do you need to set up partitions for music etc?

AFAIK you have to create the 4 partitions
