Anyone know if MMS messaging is gonna be available on the Virgin Mobile network soon and if so how much it'll cost to send a MMS?

I asked them a while ago, they said March - April.

But it has been delayed, all they are saying now is 'Summer'.

So hopefully soonish! And also, as most people have noticed MMS on other networks is often slow, or does not work. Virgin are not starting a service that they think they will have problems with.

They are cheating and finding problems found by other networks,so they dont run into them.... so this will be chaeper for Virgin, which means they can offer it cheaper to us.

I take it that when MMS is introduced that GPRS will be enabled cos, and correct me if I'm wrong as I'm not 100% on mobile tech, its cheaper than using WAP?

Slight error with the terms there as you cannot compare GPRS with WAP.

I use GPRS WAP to read my e-mail and it works out much cheaper than dial-up WAP. With GPRS you only pay by the Kb rather than per minute. I spent about 20 minutes while waiting for a train the other day checking e-mail on my Vodafone phone. It cost me less than 20p. Dial-up WAP would have cost in the region of £2.00, so yes much cheaper for those small downloads but once you start downloading graphics, games and large files the cost can eat into your credit very quickly. On my first colour phone I spent £1.00 in next to no time.

I rang Virgin t ohave a bit of a moan that i was not receiveing my text messages and rhey said it was because i had lots of photos on the phone - anyone any ideas where i can get a data cable - usb wire from, please? so i can copy them to my computer and they said you can do it via MMS soon when we (Virgin) introduce it which we hope is very soon and then you the custumer can send the photos to people via that to people - does that mean that i send it to their phone or their e-mail address? A quick websearch for your phone's model plus the word 'Accessories' in Google should provide you with answers to that one - otherwise try amazon.co.uk.

I've been having HUGE problems with my text messages on Virgin over the past two or three months - perhaps this is a bigger issue than they're letting on...
