Walked through Weatherfield today
Hey everyone!
Just to let you know I walked through the set today as part of the Sport Relief Mile in Manchester. The last time I went was 1999 so was interested to see what it would be like after 11 years! Started from the side of the street with Leanne's Bar (still boarded up) and Dev's shop on the right. Turned right onto the street itself and the organisers has red tape on the pavement so could not go right up to the doors. I forgot how small everything was. Had a picture taken outside the Rovers', Barlow's Bookies, Street Cars and Prima Doner. They've done a good job with Victoria Court as last time I went it was part of the old Moll Flanders set. The back gate to Kevin and Sally's garden is right next door to the entrance to Street Cars. On screen there used to be a huge wooden entrance to a Brewery here. Then we went down the back of the newer houses and there is an Underworld loading bay. Has anyone ever seen this on screen as I cant remember ever seeing it? Took loads of pics which I will get onto my PC at some point but was so coooooool had to share it with everyone! Vicky Binns, Antony Cotton and Nikki Sanderson were there as well. (Molly, Sean and Candice). Oh and I met Dwight Yorke for those who know who he is. Brought back so many memories of the excellent Granada Studios Tour. While I'm on the subject cant wait for Phil Collinson to take over from the dreadful Kim Crowther and reinstate good old Corrie values like classic characters, good comedy and strong storylines. |

I did too! I did the 3 mile one so went on the set 3 times!
Saw Anthony Cotton as well before we started! Got loadsa pics of the set too, don't think we've ever seen the loading bay on the soap, but it must have been on at least once otherwise there's no point in the sign being there! Victoria Court looks quite small when you see it, they make it look quite tall on the show, but that's just like everything else, I suppose, as the set is so small anyway. |

I was working in the hotel round the corner from the Corrie set and Anthony Cotton
and Vicky Binns came in saying they'd been for a run. Didn't know what they were on about though
