I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought it was dull - in fact I only logged onto the DS to see if other people thought that too. There were no performances which made me think "wow!". I'm trying to think what each couple skated and I'm struggling to remember.
I realise this is harder than Strictly Come Dancing, but I do wish that at this point the DoI contestants were doing two routines like they do in SCD. I didn't think much of the opening performance either (I would have preferred something faster and more 'thrilling' with just the professionals).
Yes very dull tonight infact with a couple of notable exceptions the whole series has been very dull....hardly anything memorable at all.....time for a re-think DOI
Am I right in thinkngthey also put an ad break between each performance too - it really annoys me about this show all the adverts and how long it takes to even get started. I know often (like tonight) they have an opening performance but there are times when there isn't one and we have to welcome Philip and Holly and then welcome the judges and then there's an ad break ...

Props, solo skate and flying are all rubbish yet they're the quarter, semi and final elements. Sigh.”
I dont like props. Solo skating should be introduced half way through more for celebs to work towards. Semi final and final elements should include more solo skating elements. It would eleminate week skaters from the very beginning.
There have been very good semi finals that had the solo skate so I dont think it's that.
I agree tonight was dull and this year has been very low on memorable moments generally. Other than perhaps Jai Ho I've yet to see memorable routine. Most years produce a few, last year there was a couple of rays, series 2 clare and kyran had a few great routines each and I can still name loads of cracking suzanne and chris routines. This year has really lacked a spark...
I don't think it's the required element in general that's the problem. However, this year's solo skate definitely seemed a lower calibre than in previous series (other than the first).
I agree that the SF was distinctly underwhelming. The performances were too safe and the judges seemed to be marking to a formula.
