Anybody else think it was a bit unfair Nicky had to vote based on Robin's rules?

I'm not just being a sore loser cause Danniella went out but Nicky said he was only saving Gary cause Robin said the fall didn't count?

It's not like Nicky tends to follow any logical rules of the universe. If he'd really wanted to save Daniella I'm sure he would have found some bizarre way to do so, regardless of what Robin said.

Robin is the head judge as has been stated since Series 1.

Had Gary mucked up when he was in routine Nicky would've voted for Danniella.

I thinkit is right and I'm glad that Nicky stated the judges position on the falling over at the end of the routine.

It is a shame Danniella had to go though

Nicky saved Gary because he thought Gary's performance was better but he wasn't sure if the fall at the end counted. It didn't, so therefore he thought Gary was better.

He could have still voted for Daniella if he wanted - as did Jason and Emma. That kind of undermines your point.

Rather convenient that Robin made a ruling that ensured Nicky would vote in accordance with his own preference though

I had no doubt that the 'fall' was after the routine had finished and thought it was just excitement/relief from the pair of them, who maybe thought it was their last time skating as it was obvious that Jason and Emma would be saving Danniella whatever they did!!!!!

I think it's good that as Head Judge, Robin made the rules clear. I think the fall was more of relief that it was over. I didn't think it was unfair and wish this could happen more in professional sport, where common sense rules were applied.

should have added, I wanted Gary to go through but thought Daniella didn't deserve to go home.

I'm glad it was said that they considered it to be after the routine had finished and Robin as head judge made the rules clear (and I say that with my fav being Danniella). There would have been alot of debate about the fall if it wasnt mentioned. As someone said I think if Nicky wanted to save Danniella he'd have done it anyway. To be honest, though I'm gutted, I think overall the best person went through, he's boring yes but Danniellas solo skate was alot poorer.

I thought the same. Think Nicky was just clarifying the situation.

I think it would have been better if Holly or Phil or even Robin had stated that position before the judges began giving their answers, rather than leaving it up to an individual judge to mention, as it makes Nicky come off like he voted against the way he wanted to vote because of it.

What scores did Nicky give Gary? 5.5
Daniella? 4.5

Gary's fall would have minused .5, therefore still better, goodnight.

Nicky must've wanted to save Gary anyway. Robin's clarification just meant that he didn't need to deduct from Gary, not that he had to change his vote to Gary.

What is that sort of remark supposed to mean?

You don't think anyone could ever want to save someone but think the rules and scoring criteria meant they shouldn't and then go with the rules and scoring criteria?

Or do you think that applies to Robin but not to other people?

Or is is just some roundabout way of saying Robin didn't want to save her, even though you can't actually know that?

To be fair Nicky said he was only saving Gary cause the fall didn't count and if it did then he would of saved Danniella and it would of been a different story.

Whenever Nicky mentioned Robin chose this rule it was certain Robin would save Gary.

Still Gary won't win cause he's been in the skate off twice already where as Hayley hasn't been in 1 skate off. And Kieron seems to have a large fanbase.

I don't think Nicky liked Daniella. With the exception of last week, her scores were slightly lower from Nicky compared to the other judges. When Daniella was in the skateoff, Nicky voted for the other skater.

To me Daniella was better in the skate off then Gary.

I have to agree with Jason that Gary is dull, you get the same simple bit of skating and the same simple lifts every week with no real performance

I prefered Daniellas solo & performance it was also a more complex routine

Strange decisionns from the judges when you compare it to the votes they gave particularly as Daniela gave a much stronger performance in the skate off

What? no I just mean that Nicky has never given much weight to rules and criteria really, he likes being quite controversal. I said that meaning that he didnt only save Gary because of the fall being afterwards. I think he just wanted confirmation on the point generally and if he wanted to save Danniella he would have. The fall being afterwards wasnt the only criteria on which he saved Gary.
It is also very good that clarification was given on the fall being afterwards I think.

With or without the fall, which was after the routine finished he did a better performance, as usual she didn't skate on her own, except for the first bit. Gary did much more.

Gary did his same bit of simple skating and did not do it well and there was no performance at all in what he did. As Jasonn said Dull

What do you mean by "if he wanted to save Daniella he would have"?

Do you think people always do what they want to do, so that if he wanted to save Daniella he would have?

Couldn't he want (meaning desire to) save her but feel he shouldn't because she hadn't skated as well?

I don't think Nicky is such a maverick. I think he marks based in a fairly straightforward way on how well he thinks they skated.

That if he genuinely felt that Danniella was better than Gary for whatever reason he would have saved her for those reasons whether the fall counted or not, that's all. I don't think he saved Gary just because the fall didnt count, I think he was just clarifying things about the fall.

I thought he was just tying to forstall all the flak he'd get for saving someone who 'fell' as most people seem to believe that a fall automatically means you should go. I think he always wanted to save Gary - he is a much stronger skater and had a load more skating content (only inside 3 I've seen all series tonight) so the ruling meant he could save who he wanted and didn't have to go with Daniella just because she didn't fall.
