I am loving Florence & The Machine atm. I think Florence is such a unique and talented singer that it's hard not to be captivated by her.

So i was just asking is there a UK tour at some point this year? & any news on a new album?

My current favourite(s) are 'between two lungs' and 'drumming song'.

She's doing a European tour at the moment which includes UK dates throught May, and is also doing a load of UK festivals this summer (Tin the Park, Isle of Wight festival, Latitude festival) so lots of live stuff going on. Details on her website at http://florenceandthemachine.net/

Don't know about a new album but seems unlikely for a while given how much time she's spending touring at the moment.

In the NME last week she said her new album would be "chemically fixated" and is influenced by conversations she had with her family around the dinner table as a lot of her family members are doctors or training to go into the medical profession.

She recently spent two weeks in the studio recording new material with Paul Epworth (the man who produced Lungs).

She spoke about how the new record will be more "dancey" but dark as well. But also lot more contained than "Lungs".

She has already recorded a song called "Strangeness and Charm"

I read an interview with her where she said that a follow-up probably wouldn't be released until next year, though as already said she's started writing and recording.

In terms of touring, she's touring America in April, some dates in England in May and will be doing festivals through the summer. I think the rest of this month will be spent promoting Dog Days Are Over which is released April 11th.

The new album is due out in early 2011.

The UK tour has completely sold out but some of the festivals are still on sale!

The tour sold out very quickly, I was in a queue for over an hour on the day of release waiting to confirm and pay and when I checked again about an hour after all of the dates said, "please ring venue"

I got a ticket for Blackpool in a pre sale that sold out in a couple of mins then the main sale did the same.

She is still playing small venues and only a few dates so no suprise really.

You will be able to get a sell on ticket at an inflated price though.

There are still tickets available for Latitude, she's headlining the Friday night (16 July). Only £160 a ticket!

Already got my ticket, but then I go to Latitude every year as it's a great festival.

(I probably won't even bother watching Florence as The National are headlining another stage on the Friday night. )

Flo is gonna have a lot of pressure. Personally i really can't see her pulling off an album as good as Lungs.

Being talented is not a reason to justify a potential good second album.

Could there ever be another classic like "My Boy Builds Coffins" .
I mean you would really need to be 10 or under to come up with a song title like that.

The lyrics to that song are amazingly put together.

I would love to see her live! she has an incredible image and her vocals....BEAUTIFUL! her lyrics are deep and authentic as well as artistic and catchy.
she has brought alive British Pop music with Lungs, cannot wait to see what she comes up with next for her follow up to Lungs.

HOOOOOOWWWWLLLLL

It will help though and I for one believe that her talent will shine through ahead of the crap put out by others. She might not be as commercially successful with the next album, but that isn't how I rate an album!

Well, a lot of it will all depend on how good the "co-writers" are. and if people really want 2 albums of howling. I mean the most successful record she had - was a cover and on another she had to pay out royalties after ripping off someone else's idea. I suppose we all have different ideas of what passes as talent.

Out of interest, who do you think qualifies as having "talent" from the current British mainstream music scene? Looking through your previous posts, it seems you regularly make misinformed criticisms on a variety of artists (and the music industry as a whole) but never seem to praise anyone.

But releasing 'You've Got The Love' as a single was pretty smart in commercial terms and has aided her in branching to the mainstream - out of her previous singles released, 'Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)' and 'Drumming Song' haven't done as well as 'You've Got The Love' as they're not conventional pop songs like 'Kiss With A Fist', 'Hurricane Drunk' or to a lesser degree, 'Dog Days Are Over'.

And in regards to your criticism of 'My Boy Builds Coffins', why don't you go listen to the song before commenting on the title?

Apparently she's working on a concept album with Fatboy Slim!
