OMG are people seriously not questioning the content of this video? These "artists" have a fanbase with kids starting at 7/8 years old and this is the type of music video put out.

What will it take before people start questioning what they see on TV? Personally I think this video is blatantly showing the scary low depths that our society has reached.

No prizes for guessing that the track is now number 1 guaranteeing lots of airplay.

I think it's great (although the song's a bit average)!

Song is rubbish and so is the vid. Beyonce is looking good, though.

The product placement and a whole video of manufactured and planned 'shocks' are rightly disturbing. It's like she distilled Madonna's career into one video. Definately trying to hard.

She went to the Michael Jackson school of shock publicity and weirdness. Only difference was that MJ could sing, was the best dancer and made fantastic music.

Got no time for her, but guess the young kids love her as its all new to them.

It's 2010, why does anything shock you anymore? I suppose the most shocking bit is when she jumps her naked body against the prison cell, but that bit is always cut out on TV anyway. Everything else (apart from her costumes possibly) is nothing you wouldn't see in any other music video or tv show.

I think it's a brilliant video, great "OMG" moments, good storyline, and one liners that will be remembered for years (once you kill a cow ...).

Yes, the product placement is a bit OTT.

Oh FFS its a music video not a 'live your life like this' instructional guide to life.

the responsibility of raising children does not lie with gaga or beyonce its with the parents of the children.

So tired of games/music/videos getting the blame for shit parenting.

According to the lady herself, the video is intended to be a social commentary criticising what society has become.

Google it - it's all a bit pretentious, but she does make a point.

Their fanbase may start at 7/8, but it goes all the way up to about 40 and probably further. Should these - or any artist - always have to play it safe just because they're going to inevitably have fans younger than their target fanbase? Had this come from Miley Cyrus I'd be with you, but Gaga and Beyonce are hardly trying to appeal to the kiddie market.

Was a bit shocked to see it this morning, I'm considering calling OFCOM. Surely this isn't suitable to show this early in the morning??

No one is shifting the blame from parenting. Moreso the topic is about how far do you feel the media will personally go before the people feel it is no longer acceptable? Or will the people become so simply "immune" to all types of images that we will no longer have a limit to what is deemed acceptable?

You think she can't sing? You are more than entitled not to like her style and her music, but saying she can't sing it just wrong:

Obviously works then ^. 4 #1 singles and two editions of her album going to #1 more than 3 times in one year.

About the video, who cares? It's a video. It's not going to change the history of the universe is it.

And Gaga has always said that her 'target audience' (if ever there were one) isn't for children 8/9/10. It's for teenagers and older. So really, it's parents problems if there kids watch it. Not gaga's.

Why would children be watching tv during the day? They should be at school. If they aren't, that's not the TV station's fault.

If you don't want your children seeing something, turn the TV off. It is the responsibility of parents to bring up their children properly, this insistent blame culture where it's always someone else's fault it what has created social problems in my opinion.

Not to mention music channels have less than 1% audience share. It's hardly causing society to crumble.

Welcome...I thought that it was fantastic, it's Gaga-esque. I love seeing a new talent worthy of being an 'Esque', regardless if you like the style or not. She has definitely put her stamp on an industry that's become dull with likes of Idol winners ect.
