Do you think we are in for a Christina Aguilera vs Lady GaGa battle?
Christina has always done very well in the UK. Infact she has had more number 1 singles in the UK than in any other country. However her new album is a change of direction and will be hard on the Indie Electropop. Lady GaGa is the current Electropop Queen.
Do you think we are in for a fan war? we saw what happened when Christina dared to perform with sun glasses at the VMA's two years ago. Do you think it is going to haunt her? |

I think she's going to go in a different direction to GaGa, or at least I hope so. When you see the producers she's working with, I can't imagine her music sounding much like GaGa. I'm hoping her music is at least more interesting than GaGa's, if not more succesful.

No I don't think there will be a battle, I don't even see Christina as an electropop act AT ALL, it seems she is trying to mimic the success GaGa has had by going for a similar style....she needs to find her own new style and be herself.
Either way, IF it did come to a battle, in that genre of music there would only be one winner. GaGa. |

Don't think Christina's music will be anything like GaGa's.
A few people have said that Bionic is Christina's Ray Of Light. So if it anything like Ray Of Light then it is going to be a seriously mainstream album. |

Yeah I probably should have called it deeply serious. I mean several music critics called Ray Of Light a masterpiece. So if Christina's new album is anything like it then I don't think GaGa will be able to touch the praise Christina will get.

However, I agree that now if she releases music like GaGa's then it will reflect badly on Christina. And if they release similar music, GaGa will win. But I don't think Christina will, she likes to push the envelope. |

I do like Christina, but I think she should stick to what she is good at. Electropop is not for her.

I think that an electropop album wouldn't go down well as it wud look like a gaga copy even if it wasnt! I think shes best to stick to a range of genres and use her vocal ability. I think she's a really good singer but I never really liked, I always thought she was too false and slightly arrogant about her success while I find Gaga to be so excited by her success rather than arrogant, so she is a lot more endearing! I also found christina very much of the manufactured pop era, where everything was a bit fake and very samey. just my opinion but i wud defo go for gaga! Once you hear and see Gaga, everything else looks a bit tame!

With the exception of her debut album, I can't see how you can think she is 'manufactured' and 'samey'. She took a risk with 'Stripped' because of the image of the era and a risk with b2b which was a completley different genre altogether. None of her peers would have dared to release something like b2b. If anything, I actually think Christina does her own thing and doesn't follow the musical brat pack.
As for this new album. Ladytron produced most of it. So expect something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHMynl9QX7g And this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_BSf...x=0&playnext=1 So it will probably sound more indie than electro. |

And i wouldnt exactly say that Gaga follows the brat pack, i mean before her electro pop wasnt heard very much on the radios and now it is huge. She has also sed herself that her thrid album, out in autumn, will be in a new direction to her fame and fame monster albums and has sed tht it will be her first reinvention of her career. i also think her performance are the opposite of following the brat pack, no one (except madonna although not consistently) has put on performances like her, just look at her VMAs performance with the blood, there hasnt been a performance as good as that in terms of stage performance for about 10 years! but im not bashing christina, just my opinion. |

Do people know what electro pop is?
Goldfrapp, Ladytron, Golden Filter are all electro pop acts. Lady GaGa isn't. She is an RnB/pop star. Her music is not electro pop in the slightest. |

Laughing at Xtina being samey... One of the reasons i love xtina the most is that she goes against the grain!
Also Gaga ain't that different...i don't see much difference between her, rihanna and Beyonce. One just loves couture clothes too much. |

To be honest Lady GaGa is just a female David Bowie with elements of Madonna thrown in, so yeah it has been done before.
I say that as someone who likes GaGa as well but her biggest problem will come when she tries to reinvent herself for later years. I mean being Lady GaGa at 30, even worse 40, will make her sound like a saddo... |

I think Gaga will stick around for at least another 2 years, and will be at the top of her game. As for 5/10years time i'm not sure, you can't predict that far ahead, you don't know how the music industry will change. If people start copying Gaga and her crazy ways then in a few years Gaga will lose the Shock factor, and that is basicaly what made gaga what she is today. If everyone starts dressing weird and pushing the boundries with music videos etc then Gaga will have to keep coming up with something amazing to steal the spotlight. I like Gaga though, i hope she sticks around for a while. I just hope that if she does become the next Madona that she doesn't dress half naked like her at the age of 50
As for xtina, she has lost it a little bit now. I doubt Gaga should be worried about her making a comeback |

Christina has actually been on a break because she is a mother now. I think people forget she has a two year old son.
Being a mother made Madonna bring out her best album in Ray Of Light and people have already said that Bionic is Christina's Ray Of Light. So all the signs are positive. |
