Hi all,

Does anyone know if this is a known problem, or was there perhaps something wrong with Wonders of the Solar System last night? When I came downstairs this morning I noticed my Humax was recording. I turned everything on and couldn't see anything in the EPG, so when I pressed Stop it asked me if I wanted to stop the recording of Wonders of the Solar System, 21:00 to 22:00. Had been recording for nearly 600 minutes and had taken up something like 16% of the HDD. Was a good job I noticed!

Is the first time I've had this problem. Was series-linked, so I'm wondering if I should cancel it and set it up again. Or make sure it stops next time, because I was watching it at the time. (Great series!)

Thanks,
Tim.

mine have recorded ok via the hd channel on series link. It might be a good idea to reschedule the recordings cos the bbc are prone to screwing up their crid data mid-series. The Mastercrafts series link failed to update on the last episode last week and I had to re-program the schedule.

I've had it once since last June when I got the Foxsat. This was under the previous version of the software. It also coincided with a box lockup.

Yes.

i recorded it OK ..
In fact the umpteen Progs for the wife in the 'Dance' genre from the BBC..
have been to a frame accuracy over the last three months..
as witnessed by the identical Icons dsiplayed in the Media folders week after week.
Now ITV..
well the Ice dancing progs have started three different folderss during the last 2months
and the 2 saturday progs appear interlaced with the friday progs..
based on an as yet undetermined encryption paradigm.
If I paid a Licence I would be saying ..

I've not updated the software at all yet...I'm reluctant to, because knowing me it'll go wrong and the Humax has so far been almost 100% reliable.

So what version are you on then Tim? I would seriously consider keeping the firmware up-to-date. Do you decline any prompts for over the air updates, or is your firmware so old that it doesn't work with OTA updates? Also is the box connected with 2 sat feeds or just the one?

Tip: to locate version select menu > system > diagnostics

I'll check, but the only OTA updates I get are channel updates, so I assume I'm on the earliest Firmware still. I got the box very soon after they came out and have never updated it.

But another failed recording the other night, (was series-linked to record Heroes on BBC3 at 10pm, and I noticed a Paul Merton programme had just started at 9pm, so hit record on that, and the next day I saw Heroes had failed), makes me think perhaps I really should upgrade. Yikes.

I've recently had a couple of these. BBC HD Heroes from Saturday night (and I didn't actually notice until Sunday PM over 800 mins recorded), and last night 'Bang Goes the Theory', also BBC HD, didn't stop.
Anyone else noticed this issue and found a workaround/fix?
(Prefer not to do a full reset but will try if it happens again and no one has posted a better option. Oh how I wish for a viable alternative to the shoddy Humax HDR - the Sagem is looking better every day.)

The unexplained paradigm is simply how the two codes used for Freesat+ have been coded by the broadcaster.

There are two codes (CRID) one a series code which should be the same for every episode in a series and a programme one which should be different for each new episode (but the same for repeats of the same episode). Friday and Saturdays appear in the same folder because the broadcaster has given them the same series crid

I've had this twice, once on BBCHD, and the week before last, Foyles War on ITV HD. Both times it only stopped when the HDD was full.

Had the same this week with Dr Who on Monday BBC HD, Didn't notice and filled the box so all later recordings failed.
Is it something wrong with BBC HD or the box?

Oh, well looks like this is yet another bug that Humax are turning a blind eye to both on here and via e-mail Oh how I wish there was a viable alternative with the same functionality but actually works.
