Groups often mistakenly referred to with the definite article?
For example...'Cocteau Twins'. Also, apparently, 'Carpenters'.
Any other offers (the less obscure the better)? |

Editors - it's amazing how often I see them referred to as The Editors. Repeat after me - it's Editors.

Small Faces
- I've been guilty of calling them The Small Faces. I guess it's just a habit what with all the other 60's bands like The Beatles, The Kinks, The Zombies, The Who, The Rolling Stones etc.

In their heyday The Jesus and Mary Chain were nearly always referred to as Jesus and The Mary Chain.

As soon as I saw this thread I thought of Cocteau Twins. Other than that... Delays? (hope that's not too obscure)
For the record though, I think both of them would sound better with the definitive article.... |

Seems common when a band has an "s" at the end, as if they are plural.
One thing I never know is do you refer to bands... would you say "Yeah Yeah Yeahs are great" or "Yeah Yeah Yeahs is great". I.e. the band as a whole is singular (is), but a band is a collection of people (are). There's another ones... Yeah Yeah Yeahs
