Why are the same skaters given the best celebs every year

Just seems a bit unfair that Maria and Dan always seem to get lucky with the celebs that they get.

Why weren't Andrei, Fred and Suzy made priorities for the best celebs this year

Maria has been very lucky I agree. I don't think Dan has been as lucky, I think he makes his partners look good and enables them quite craftily.
I do agree that lots have had bad runs, Andrei (though I do think they gave him someone with potential this year in Sinitta and possibily with Gemma as well, she was just unpopular) has been very unlucky. Suzie tends to get quite a bad run, though I think they expected Jeremy to be better than he was, likewise with Fred, he tends to get poor skaters but I think they thought Emily would be better as well. Mel on the other tends to do quite well, as does Pav (expected Samantha Mumba to do alot better though), Frankie (bar Ellery) and Matt (other than this year and this tour). Kristina was someone who always did quite badly.

Emily, Jeremy and Sinitta I expected to do well and they didn't and I wanted them to be better cause of their partners.

Glad 2 of the new pros got far cause new pros always get the rubbish ones.

Dan only got Hayley cause of location and he knew her.

Maria getting Gary is odd.

I would of gave Hayley Andrei cause he's due a good skater and it's a bit unfair Dan skating with Hayley cause they know each other.

As for the men

Gary- should have Alexandra
Kieron- should have Kristina OK then Brianne
Danny- should have Susie
Mikey- should have Melanie cause of personalities
Jeremy and Mollie
Hilary and Frankie
Bobby and Maria

Yeah it is a shame because Pavel is my favorite skater. Dancing with Sharon this year made them look like a couple of Avatar's on ice. But fair plays he picked her up with such ease. Lets hope he gets a good partner next year.

I agree, they should try to spread things a bit more. They don't always know who is going to be the 'good' celeb when they start though.

Also Dan was always going to be with Hayley, so that limited things a bit.

Still, two out of the final four pros two were totally new this year, so things have been mixed up at least a bit. Even there though, the celebs they were allocated two weren't particularly ones who were expected to do well. Brianne and Matt have both been great, and good partners to Kieron and Daniella, and that's helped them go further than expected I think.

If it is true that Karen Barber has some say in who gets who why didn't she see straight away who was going to be good and make sure they were given to pros who haven't had anyone good for some time.

She could have put Hayley with Fred and Emily with Dan

Why didn't she?

Come on Karen the Lipanovs and Fred have to come first next year when you are auditioning the celbs.

Oooh and no one so far ahead of the others in ability please- let's have a show of celebs of about the same standard. It'll be more interesting that way as it will be harder to predict who will win

I really wouldn't say he does. Jessica is still probably the only decent partner he had and she never got many viewer votes until the semis. If it wasn't for the Jason furore with Sharron I think she'd have been out a few weeks earlier than she was. The problem with Pav though is he's 6'3 so will always get paired with the tall ladies who often aren't the best at skating.

Why did Kristina not get Ray last year- why did Maria get him - Graham could have gone with Maria

I think coming 3rd out of 3 series isnt bad though. He had the best female last year and he had someone with a lot of potential in Samantha Mumba who was expected to do really well but who annoyed everyone by complaining. The only dud he's been handed really is Sharon and she still did alright.

Actually correct that cos I forgot Pav got Ulrika! So I'd put him about equal with Fred!

Yeah that's true, with Samanatha they couldn't predict she'd be out early. xD But I think you're forgetting about him getting Ulrika Jonsson! Poor Pav.

It was always going to be more of a 'story' pairing Hayley with Dan. I imagine the producers will have been extremely keen on that pairing for that reason. And they'll have the final say.

The same producers who thought it would be great to overload the programme with soap stars.

And who might be a tad upset if Keiron beats Hayley in the final

Let's have a series with no -one from Coronation Street and Emmerdale- than Dan will have to work with someone different to who he usually gets

Exactly, you have to feel for them, those 3 especially(Fred, Andrei, Suzie) I do wonder if Andrei and Suzie will be back next year.

It's something that annoys me every year and I still don't understand how they pick the partnerships. There must be a fairer way of doing things.

Hayley and Dan shouldn't have been partnered together, especially as they are childhood friends. That was a big advantage straight away.

Is it worth contacting Dancing on Ice Friday - and the producers - to point out how unfair they were to those three skaters and ask why didn't they get the better celebs this year

I'm not a Hayley fan but all this ^^ and other conspiracies that keep being put forth by certain Kieron fans are coming across really, really desperate. "lol ".

How the [beep] is it a 'conspiracy' to suggest that the producers put Hayley with Dan because that would give a more interesting story for the show??? I don't think even Hayley herself would dispute that was the case...

Nor do I think it's a conspiracy to say the tour organisers and producers of the show will be having kittens if Keiron wins!

Who on earth can know who can do what before the programme starts.

Jeremy had ballet training and I'd have put good money on him transferring those skills to the ice, but it just didn't happen - though I wish he hadn't been hampered by injury.

Just when are the pairings decided? Presumably before training starts - so why the suggestions of bias?

I dont think it was expected Andrei and Susie to have early exits this year

Susie had bad luck with Jeremy because he was out with injury for a month, he showed promise, but it was too much to catch up.

Andrei was given a good one in Sinitta, but it went wrongly in the SO.

Oh come on, you're the king/queen of conspiracies. Like "and they'll have the final say " doesn't mean it'll be fixed for Hayley to win.

Just like "Gary only got this far because he's on the tour", and "Kieron being in the final is against what the producers want."

Please! It's all rubbish!

I would say that Maria has had some very 'lucky' partners. I mean she's been given young fit men year after year and from the auditions it must be obvious who can do what. Yet she always ends up with a goodie.

Dan always getting someone from Emmerdale annoys the hell out of me. Because of location? Other pros come from the US and go where they have to - why the hell can't he. 4 years on the trot takes the p!ss really. Especially seeing as its obvious the Emmerdale celebs are going to be known by ITV viewers and therefore may have a bit of an advantage with the viewer vote.

I do think they've tried to give Susie, Fred and Andrei someone with potential but the pairing isnt done blindly either, they have assessed them a bit...

They audition the celebs first to see what they're like, then they go with coaches. Then they meet Torvill and Dean.
Then according to T&Ds website "Before you know it, Jayne and Chris are leading their new charges by the hand and assessing their various strengths and weaknesses – and beginning the process of matching the right professional to the right celebrity. After the initial lesson with Jayne and Chris in October, the celebrities have to practise for 10 hours a week at their local rink until given their partners in November.

“In the beginning, when we go on to the ice with them we are trying to understand their personalities, to see how they will react under certain pressures and how much they are like to progress in a short space of time. . Other factors come into it, of course, such as size and deportment,” says Jayne.

I think it's about a couple of months before the show starts, after the initial basic skating training.

They will have some idea of who might be good at that stage, I'd have thought. Though obviously, with people like Jeremy the one's you'd expect to be decent can end up being, er, not...

That was due to injury though - I think had he not been injured he could've been extremely good on the ice.

It was unfortunate especially for Susie after Todd
