Two questions for skaters on here

1. Who is/was Ena Bower

Chris D has mentioned 'Doing an Ena' and I've heard Tony say 'The Bower' but no-one has ever explained who she is (unless they have and I've missed it )

Also, when the celebs are rehearsing, why do they sometimes have one trouser leg rolled up

I'm not a skater but I can answer those - I think!

An Ina Bauer is a figure skating move, named after a German figure skater who invented it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ina_Bauer_%28element%29

If you search for Ina Bauer on youtube, you'll be able to see plenty of examples

As for rolling up the trouser leg, that's when they're doing moves where the male partner is lifting and holding the female partner by the ankle or when he's swinging her round by the ankle. Presumably the women roll up their trouser legs because otherwise the material in the trouser legs could interfere with the guys getting a good grip, so it's safer to roll the relevant trouser leg up out the way.

Thank you

I was a mile off with the spelling

Reading the article, I've never seen our celebs doing the move bent over backwards

I'll have to pay a visit to YouTube

An ina bauer is a type of spin glide move Mikey did them lots and an ina bauer was part of the week 4 required element this series.

As for the trouser leg whenever they are doing lifts such as drape lifts, headbangers, aeroplane spins, float spins etc the male has to grab the female's leg and it would be harder with a trouser leg cause it could make the male lose their grip and the female being injured.

Or in Heather Mills case to show everyone she had a fake leg.

Must be unusual to use the whole name for a move - it's usually just the surname.
