Brucie is a legend,the show wouldn't be the same without him.I think he will be there as long as he wants to be.Anton actually said on Angela & Friends today that if Brucie ever stopped doing the show that they should stop the show.But I think he was only joking though,as he then said that he and Brendan,who was also on the show,should take over when Brucie does decide to finish!

I can't think of anything worse than Anton hosting Strictly. I have gone right off him since he open his big ignorant mouth.
My view on Bruce has changed and I do not think he adds anything to the show now. He does the same lame jokes and his hosting is getting worse. He is becoming jittery. I for one would like to see a new presenter as Bruce is not bigger than the show.

Though I said it wouldn't be the same without him,I agree with you that nobody is bigger than the show.If he did go,I cannot see the BBC asking Anton to do it.I think they would want to bring in a big name as it is their flagship show.
As we found out when he was ill last series - the show is as good -if not better - without him!

I agree it's a shame Paul O'Grady's gone to ITV as he would have been brilliant but last year proved Tess worked as a presenter with Claudia filling her role much better than she usually does. If they can't spare Claudia from ITT then what about Alesha - remove her from the judging panel and still keeping her fans happy - score on all fronts.

I thought that Tess and Claudia did a good job last series. It didn't need ronnie corbett. I wouldn't mind Paul being presenter but there must be others that can do a very good job as presenter. I would want a presenter who can help in modernising the format of the show and also make it fresh. We are not getting that from Bruce.
The problem is if you replace Bruce, then who with? There's been plenty of discussions on this board and the Beeb forums about it but not one stand out candidate has been uncovered. Any suggestions have been met with as many antis as pros.
I don't mind Brucie and would be happy if he stayed, but if he was replaced, I wouldn't switch off (well not immediately anyway).

It's funny cos in interviews i really like Bruce, but i don't like him on Strictly, his jokes are awful.
Can't think of anyone to replace him but i certainly wouldn't switch off if he wasn't doing it anymore.

I thought his interview with Piers Morgan was excellent.
I loved bruce interview with pier last week and hope bruce will be involved in strictly for a few more years

It would be obvious with a younger presenter how dull it would be. The episode when he was ill was only saved by the brilliant Tess and Ronnie C double act......

Anyone else would either not be as experienced as a presenter or as knowledgeable about dancing as Bruce. A replacement will be lacking in one or the other......
He's paid excessively more than he can ever dreamed of nor more than he actually deserves for that matter, of course he'll continue.
He must be also thinking that they have to drag him out of the studio before he even contemplates of resigning & rather than get off the gravy train.

I agree, and I really hope he doesn't even come back as a musical guest - I always mute or switch over whenever he sings!
Lack of experience as a presenter is no reason to rule anyone else out - as Bruce has shown, experience doesn't mean you're any good! The jokes have worn thin, half the time last series he didn't even get people's names right and he was prompting the audience to laugh when they clearly didn't want to
I don't think Anton should be his replacement, but I wouldn't object to practically anyone else. Claudia should permanently replace Tess as well - if you want Strictly knowledge, there's no-one better, and she can at least pronounce the dancers' names correctly, something Tess seems incapable of doing for certain people
