It's all stuff that we know already. I don't think Leslie Grantham has ever tried to pretend he's in love with Eastenders and it's cast. It's going to be like any job - a lot of pressure so therefore a lot of tension behind the scenes.

don't shoot the messenger, it's not his fault if the others are *******.
It's a nice change from the usual praise Kat receives from the media when everybody knows she's a dog.

I loved the comments he made about Kat & Jessie Wallace. I don't like her at all! Plus i do get annoyed at the constant praise, and the fact she won sexiest female at the awards when clearly she Isn't compared to the others who were nominated!!!

I think its abit strange how he uses some actors names and some characters names. If he isn't in love with eastenders then it seems a bit weird how he uses the characters names sortof.

I think it just shows how he hasn't really bothered getting to know a lot of the actors 'off screen' and therefore what he does know of them is just when they're in character. And also, he might have been using character names to make it easier for the woman to understand who he was talking about.

a bit rich coming from someone who deliberately stabbed a taxi driver in Germany just for his cash.

Bollocks! He's clearly the biggest ****** on EE if this is the way he chooses to conduct himself. You obviously have difficulty distinguishing between soap characters and the actors/actresses who portray them, but if you think Jessie Wallace/Kat receives nothing but praise from the media, then I doubt that you read many tabloids beyond their sensationalist headlines.

That's not to say that LG might not be a 'victim' of their rubbish too, but I've not seen photographic evidence which puts so much emphasis on the 'graphic' as those featuring his perverted tendencies. To be honest, I much prefer Shane Richie's version of 'self-love' to Leslie Grantham's grubby proclivities.

Since when do we belive something like this in a trashy paper like that? Those pictures could be anyone, all extra publicity for Eastenders anyway, they feature on 2 newspapers today, I think that tells you something. Its still the most talked about soap, wheres Coronation St ?, who cares!

I think Corrie would rather have no publicity than all the bad publicity EE is getting! And everyone may be talking about EE but for the wrong reasons! We are talking about it because of how bad it has gotten which is leading people to switch off!

Its still enjoying ratings success of 11 million, while coronation street strugles ahead with its double corrie nights.. Speaking of coro, did anyone see it tonight? Its heading for a bad patch, wait and see.

As the saying goes All publicity is GOOD publicity. Grantham was always in the tabloids all those years back, and what dya know, hes back!

Yeh in the old days he was famous for his bust ups with the Producer Julia something. Still, we all know the relationships between the cast of EastEnders are almost identical to that of their on screen characters, Jessie slapping Hannah (Laura) Jessie calling Steve (Phil) a ******, tut tut lol

Corries survived quite well for the past 40+ years without such Sunday tabloids stories to keep them in the limelight. I'm quite sure they'll be happy to plod along with the publicity their good storylines are currently giving them without relying on Barlow to reveal all.

I know Corrie looses some viewers for the 2nd episode on Mondays but for the rest of the week its fine!

One question though. People seem to assume then If EE gets good again then that automatically means Corrie will be crap! WHY? Can't both soaps be great at the same time!!??

I don't think Corrie is heading for a bad patch at all. I think its great at the moment and from what i've heard its going to continue being great!

Totally agree Safra.

I can't understand why people think it's impossible that both soaps should be good/bad at once.

I like both Corrie & EE's (EE's I've watched since day one) but whenever I criticise my current feelings towards EE's downfall in storylines I get at least one person throwing back Corries' downfall at me.

I wouldn't mind so much if I could comment on my feelings about Corrie at that time but I couldn't watch Corrie during it's alleged 'stale period' (00-02) as I didn't have access to ITV.

The only similarity they have to me is being Soap Opera's who transmit 30 min episodes at a time, that's where I see the similarities end.

Bad patch my arse. Corrie was brill tonight and the story lines are developing well. And at least they have good actors to carry them off.

But then who can argue with the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.

How many nominations did EE get somewhere between zero zilch and nil

Fair play to Leslie Grantham. I mean, apart from the rather spurious webcam set-up, he makes some accurate comments about the show; sees it for what it is, a shambles with boring scripts, inane storylines and wooden acting. Gotta agree about Sam Mitchell, although I think the comment that she's a 'lump of wood' is very insulting.. to your average lump of wood.

I think EastEnders is on its knees. The return of Grantham was bigged-up like the Pope was visiting or something and even he sees the show has become a joke. Trouble is, they pay him more than the others (allegedly) and he has obviously become a bit arrogant. Time for a crisis meeting I think - and time to sack Louise Berridge, along with half the cast.

So what has the BBC getting 17 awards and ITV getting 2/3 (if thats the truth, i can't remember) got Anything to do with the soaps????

EE wasn't even nominated for a BAFTA, so i think that says something about the state of the soap! Corrie on the other hand Was nominated and Won!
