Eastenders - Under advertised?
J0nn13
02-05-2004
Hi guys!

I was watching the Easties omnibus today and I was thinking that this whole Janine thing could do with more advertising as it is quite a dramatic storyline (one of the best in the past few months!) Anyhow, Remember back when Big bad Richard was in Corrie? Well some of you might remeber the adverts they showed on ITV leading up to like the big end of storyline. I think Eastenders may benifit from this sort of advertising?

What do you think?

Cheers,

Jonnie

No they'll benefit with more quality script writers rather then advertising..........Oh and some quality acting wouldnt go a miss.

Yeh I remember the adverts for Corrie i.e. Killer Corrie! And Revenge is Street. But that was a huge storyline, probably one of the biggest in Corrie's history which gave ITV something shout about. EastEnders on the other hand besides Janine hasn't got a lot to shout about therefore there aren't that many adverts for it on telly. In the papers an magazines it still gets quite a bit of coverage though.

It is definitely under advertised EE used to advertise their big storylines properly but this doesnt happen any more.

It gets plenty of advertising, you can barely pick up a tabloid that hasnt got an EE exclusive

Yeh I was just gonna say that too, they've got nothing major to advertise have they. The last time they did a big advertising thing was for Dirty Den's return. Otherwise its all been a bit of a drip after that lol DENNIS BEDS ZOE! ooh shock horror, well he's had her mum he may aswell take part in the old EE tradition of having the daughter aswell lol

Just walk about your local WH Smith or any other newsagents & you'll get plenty of advertisement of the front cover of most magazines weekly.

You've got to be joking! You only need to look at the bbc website (which apparently millions do); it's like a continuous EE advert. Roll on the abolition of the licence fee!

"EastEnders - Everybody's Talking About It"

No they're not, and the few who are are only talking about how crap it is these days.

Kindof what I call 'shoot yourself in the foot' advertsing.

I'd stick them all in the laundrette machines myself, makes sense seeing EastEnders is in a spin right now.
