Jayne and Chris on This Morning
MrsRobinson
25-03-2010
Chris said they they have three worthy finalists and he said Gary's flying sessions have been comedy and that Gary hasn't a clue where he is and both he and Kieron are suffering badly from motion sickness and Jayne said Hayley gets it too.

Jayne and Chris have said that Kieron has had the biggest journey in this series and that Gary is technically a very good skater but needs to put more passion into his piece and Chris said that during practice he does seem more passionate, so let's hope the passion shows up on Sunday for Gary!

Seemingly during rehearsals, Gary is so lively and so much fun, but on the night, something tends to happen to him but he thinks that on Sunday, Gary will go for broke and give it his all.

Jayne and Chris also said that for Sunday night, their own Bolero is going to be completely different, with nothing like it done before... so that sounds like something different for us all..

I'm looking forward to their bolero. They said they were choreographing a completely different one.

Chris also said that they were very surprised that Sinitta didn't last a lot longer than she did.

Spoiler
Apparently they're also going to be accompanied by Andre Rieu and a choir.

Me too - I think she would have been decent. At least as good as Emily anyway. It was a big pity to lose her so early.

Would have helped if they hadn`t given her such a difficult routine for her first week

i thought Jayne looked lovely today and so much better with her hair framing her face rather than the scrapped back look the make up artist seems to favour on sunday. I also hope so the final they put her in a lovely dress rather than strapping her down - do they run out of time and just give her any old tat to wear ? ?

looking forward to the "new look" bolereo

My thoughts too - strangely they never seem to acknowledge the possibility that poor choreography influenced results.

I'm pleased that they've choreographed a new Bolero, because although it was ground breaking at the time over 25 years it's lost it's magic for me.

I could never tire of watching T&D do Bolero...it's magical.
I understand it's a big thing for the celebs to do in the final, but I do tire (a little) of watching celebs attempt a Bolero. It would be good fun to watch them try a Barnum or Mack & Mabel...but whether it would have the same impact or significance for the celeb...I'm not so sure.

I've just caught the end of them on the Alan Titchmarsh show too

Oh I wish they wouldn't do the Bolero every year (and there's no bigger T&D fan than me).

The main difficulty was a big lift too. I think that's now become a big problem.

Too often, the women are given too many lifts and not enough skating. That was killing Suzanne's chances the year she won, but fortunately the judges said enough that her routines changed. This year, Emily wasn't given a chance to show her skating until her partner became annoyed; and Daniella had so little skating in recent weeks that it's not surprising she was lacking when the required solo element came along.

(I can't help wondering whether Dan's done more to look after Hayley's interests than some of the other pros have done, or whether it's down to the choreographers, but her routines have given her a chance to develop her skating.)

Last week, it was even affecting Kieron. The week when skating was most important, there was a lot of emphasis on the big lift he was going to do.

It seems to me that she show ought either to make it clear to the judges and the viewers that lifts are worth marks and votes (if there's enough truth in that to make it possible to make it clear), or else to stop handing out so many lifts.

I like the suggestion I saw somewhere in this forum that there be a limit on the number of lifts that can be in a routine; and I also like the suggestion that there be some skating required every week (and not just the brief required elements).
