BBC can't hold up the show to suit Alan Sugar's schedule. Besides Sugar is boring now.

Time for a revamp & have a new & successful businessman to front the show.

There are few of them surely eg Dyson, Branson, Green, Mittal, Duke of Westminter & if they want a fiery & a real character one then there's Tom Hunter.

Yes I am beginning to agree although please god not mr Toytown hoover (dyson) particularly as he seems to be so against a celebrity version which in the US for me has really reinvigorated the series.

I disagree with the idea of replacing Sugar, even though some of the quotes have become a bit stale, hes not that boring... Besides hes really only in half of the show as its the contestants which mostly decide if a show lives or dies on its feet.

I am sick of every show being made celebrity based.

The Apprentice needs to be an entrepreneur - a self made business person who started with nothing - that rules out the Duke of Westminster.

Theo P would be very good. However Lord Alan still has some mileage in him.

I like Lord Sugar in the show, but they maybe need to change the prize because the jobs he can offer don't seem that great to me.

I was just discussing the US Celebrity version of the other thread and thought it would be good if we had Trump over here to do one series of the UK version. Or send a bunch of UK contestants over to the US. Something like that would really mix it up without having to resort to more celebrity version, although I have to say I really enjoyed the US Celebrity Apprentice.

No way to a 'celebrity' version. I'm sick of seeing the same rotation of z-list celebs doing these shows. It's funny when it's for Comic/Sport Relief, as they get decent celebrities, and it's pretty light hearted, but a whole series of reality tv whores? Nope.

I still like Alan Sugar. I wouldn't like to see any of the Dragons there- they're two separate shows. I agree Branson could be good, but I still think it's too early for Alan Sugar to go.

Why does it have to be someone we have heard of? Before Dragon's Den how many people had heard of Theo, Duncan and Peter and Deborah?

In reality it could just as easily be any old celebrity. As has previously been mentioned they only do half a show.
The prize could be turned into a cash prize. It's ok saying you win a job working for Lord Sugar but how many of them quit after a year anyway to do something themselves often trying to push their way in the media?

Personally the risk of having someone new is that the programme becomes more about them (and their empires, egos, families - cue Trump) than the candidates, whereas at least Lord Sugar doesn't drown out the programme with an over-inflated ego. Also whether or not one likes him should have no bearing on one's enjoyment (or not!), so AFAIAC, it can be left alone.

Branson would the ideal choice. He loves being on camera too. It would totally reinvigorate the show.

Tom Hunter interesting, but not a household name.

Philip Green maybe but not sure how well he'd come across on telly.

Branson for me.

Gerry Robinson is the man for this, without a doubt.

Unfortunately he's quiet, polite, and respectful towards people he deals with being more interested in helping them than humiliating so would be of no use for the programme in its current format.

It can't be apprentice without Sugar... he makes the show.

The problem with LS is his business 'empire' doesn't have any real attraction to it and putting these people through these trials only to have them end up selling advertising for doctor's waiting rooms just seems pointless.

Plus people have figured out his likes and dislikes, especially the whole 'remind him of a younger version of himself' thing.

Get Branson in there, who can actually offer a desirable job in his empire. Refresh the show. Come on BBC.
