Find BT line number
I just moved into a new house & need to find the number of the landline there. Can someone tell me how to do that?
I know theres a number to dial, but can remember it. The line has a dial tone, but you can't call anyones number! Thanks, Paul. |

Before I moved into this house, BT said that they'd need to charge me a reconnection fee, but now I've discovered there is a dial tone & number associated with the line would that really be the case? If I call BT with the number do you think I'd be connected for free?

Have you been able to confirm that the line is controlled by BT (it may be with another supplier). It may be to your advantage to contact the other suppliers available on your exchange, before contacting BT, to get quotes for connection to use as bargaining points in case BT do want to charge a connection fee or require a deposit. |

Decided to go with the post office for the cheaper line rental. Called them up & they are having none of it... They want to charge me £110 & insist that an engineer needs to visit to do a survey... What a bloody carry on. There is no need for an engineer to come to visit, surley??

Does anyone know if its possible to call BT from an inactive line & if so what's the number? If that's not possible, do BT have a number I can call from my mobile using the free minutes (eg not 0800 which is charged for from a mobile).
Thanks! |
