I'm also lookig for a digital camera around £150 for the same criteria - will be regularly used - but not for taking pics. of theme parks.

Although slightly over your budget I have got a Canon Powershot A70 which is fantastic. However, for £100 you can get the A60 which is also good. They are both available from Amazon

I'm another Canon Powersot A70 user. Excellent lens quality, loads of functions. I'm a fairly experienced photographer of the old school, and it's got al the manual over-ride functions anyone could wish for (so you can set a fast shutter speed for those theme park rides) or if you want to keep things simple, just set it to AUTO and it does everything for you.
I paid 230 for it last year, but it's now down to 199 if you shop around. Only complaint....... would be better if it had a docking station like the Kodaks. |

I have the same camera too and would recommend it. Argos are currently selling it for £179 at the moment, probably getting rid of old stocks because it has been replaced with the A80. Another point to consider when choosing your camera is the type of memory card it uses. The A70 uses one of the cheapest cards available compact flash (Pricestorm are selling a 128 mb card for £18 at the moment) but the Sony cameras use the most expensive type the memory stick. Once you buy your camera the next thing you will definitely be buying is a bigger memory card so this is another consideration you need to make.
