Coneerts you've been to?
I was wondering which artists you have seen live in concerts, when was it and what your opinion is about their performances that night & would you recommend going to see them again?
I'll start: Green Day - Saw them late 2009, was an amazing show! Only found out I could go the concert at 5pm THAT DAY! So it was all a bit hectic and I didn't really know many of their songs then but it was still very very enjoyable! Lady Gaga - Monster Ball 22/02/10, best day of my life? Maybe! Truly incredible, an experience I will never ever forget, she is so special to me and she totally delivered 100x more than I could have imagined that night! Cascada - Summer 2009. Ok so she was performing at an underage disco about 20 minutes from my house and tickets were £8, you would have gone too right? It was great fun at the time, she was sweet and did about 5-6 songs on a four foot long stage! Sugababes, Tinchy Stryder, Ronan Keating, N-Dubz, Escala, Eoghan Quigg, Ash etc - Children in Need concert 2009 Belfast. Sugababes, they'd only formed recently but they were very good at the time! Very crowd pleasing, performed Get Sexy, About A Girl & About You Now. Tinchy Stryder was nothing to write home about, good at the time (like all of these acts) but very forgettable and was just slightly more exciting than listening to him on CD. Ronan Keating was nice and down to earth, he closed the show performing 2 songs and thanked us for our support on Stephen Gately. N-Dubz were the highlight! I was really buzzing from them & they definitely got the best crowd reaction, I would like to see them in a full concert now! Escala were talented, but very bland and boring to watch. Eoghan Quigg sang two Mcfly/Busted covers, was a nice little sing-along but instantly forgettable. Ash, I didn't know who they were, but I enjoyed their songs and the singer was very entertaining and nice to us! Future concerts: Black Eyed Peas/Cheryl Cole, Paramore Would love to see Pink, Beyoncé, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, Britney, Kylie, Bon Jovi, RIhanna & ACDC (and a lot more) sometime. |

I haven't been to many but in the early. 00's I say Destiny's Child in Finsbury Park. They were ok , not much to recommend since they have now split. The radio station Choice FM used to organize montly concert type things called 'Junior Jam'. I went to a few of those I think it was 2006/7 I saw Chingy, Ciara, houton and some others I can't remember.
Last year I saw Ciara again at Heaven she's a good performer and accepted the flowers a few fans got her which was nice. I wanted to see her again when she was supporting Britney but never got a chance. I wanted to see Alicia Keys in May but there were no decent spaces left. |

Saw the 'Pandemonium Live' concert by the Pet Shop Boys at the MEN Manchester Dec 20& it was superb stuff , luckily got tickets for the Blackpool show in July , so havent got as far to travel! Unfortunatley i dont think they'll be performing 'It Doesnt Often Snow At Christmas' & alas the dancing christmas trees wont be there.
I still think the PSB's performance tour of 1991 takes some beating, but Pandemonium is probably more fun , the mash up of songs & the use of the cubes for the backdrop is fantastic. The inclusion of some lesser known songs / b sides also makes it more interesting than previous tours. Whereas Performance was very much like a night at the theatre plenty of dark subject matter & pure self indulgence

Only 3.
Justin Timberlake in 2003. I thought he was brilliant. The Backstreet Boys in 2005. I loved them too. Lady GaGa last month. She was the best of them. I want to see Beyonce next. I've heard on loads of websites, including this one, that she is amazing live. Hopefully she will go on tour in 2012 if she releases an album next year. |

Gwen Stefani in 2008 (sweet escape tour) she was brilliant. I heard her live on tv and thought her voice wasn't very good, saw her live with a friend and she has a brilliant voice.
Mcfly in 2009. Loved it. Wanted to see them for ages. Saw them at Rochester. About a 5 min drive from me so I couldn't miss it!Hoping to see the saturdays soon if the tickets don't run out

Again - a fun band with lots of banter Seen Reel Big Fish a few times, good for the comedy and a dance! Seen Jimmy Eat World a few times. Different but love them Seen Kids in Glass Houses a few times, always get the crowd going Seen A a few times, always a laugh and great atmosphere Been to 85 gigs so far. These are my faves who I like to travel to a few venues to. Saw Green Day 5 times in a week in October. Nearly killed me but was awesome. Been a fab 10 years now...time for a second Green Day tattoo Biggest disappointment was Oasis. lacked atmosphere, not fun, not my kinda crowd. Wish I'd seen them in 95-97 |

Sugababes (just as Amelle joined. I didn't even know who she was when I went to the concert! Gutted
) Also, just want to add that Keisha's vocals were amazing.Rihanna & The Pussycat Dolls (they were on the same night, funnily enough Rihanna was the opening act, but this was before 'good girl gone bad' came out, and Umbrella) Foreigner (brilliant, got about 3 rows from the stage. Didn't expect to get so close.) Nickelback (amazing, and I knew all the songs they played) Girls Aloud (on their last tour) - quite good however Cheryl was easily the worst singer there. Everybody screamed when she sang, and didn't scream for the other girls, felt a bit sorry for them... Taylor Swift - even more amazing! She really communicated with her fans [walking through the crowd at one point, and performing on the stage, to the back of the arena and in the middle of the arena, so EVERYBODY got a good view.] |

I have been trying to do about 1 gig a month over the last 3 years. My favourites were Eels at Birmingham Town Hall & Presidents Of The USA at Birminghm acadamy. Also seen Fratellis 3 times (Birmingham Uni, Birmingham Acadamy & Wolves Civic Hall) and Stereophonics 3 times (Birmingham NEC, Birmingham NIA & Wolves Civic)
Worst gig was The Ting Tings, just couldn't get into it. One of my favourite parts is seeing what the support bands are like, I have been back to see a few of them (The Courteeners most recently after seeing them support Stereophonics) Still want to see Fountains Of Wayne & Cake (oh and Eels and Presidents USA again) This years gigs Feb - Vampire Weekend at Birmingham Acadamy March - Courteeners at Birmingham Acadamy April - Ash at Birmingham Irish Centre May - Futureheads (2nd time) Birmingham Acadamy June - Teenage Fanclub at Birmingham Acadamy August - V Festival (Sunday at Weston Park) |
