We loved Tasheka - you could argue that anyone over 20 is too old but up on the stage is not a television/movie close up. It's more the poppy vocal tone and energy that conveys youth (think Sheridan Smith who although only 28 or so is actually to old for the main character in legally blonde and in close up looks a solid 28 if not older). However, the whole point of this show is to make good TV. Let's not forget that these 20 girls were not the best that openly auditioned and that (as usual) there are one or two chosen to win with one or two who can at least carry the role if the public doesn't behave themselves. So, out of 20, at least 16 are probably cannon fodder - they are chosen because for a variety of reasons but generally not because they are the most suitable for the role. Let's face it, some of them could barely dance. The only common denomiator is most have the US fashionable pop belt (which can very nearly become a screech - think lead girl on Glee)
