I thought Hayley's was one of the best I've seen...I thought it had an intensity that really worked, and it was perfect. Just loved it. Incredible.

Suzanne's was too complicated with the one big down the back lift I thought. Hayley's was a bit like that - gymnastic moves but not that dramatic or like the original. Clare's was actually like Bolero and copied more from it with wow factor added. I think I might put it the other way around.

Did Hayley struggle no!! She did not. For soe#me reason people want to hate her!!!!

'People' can't help themselves, bornfree - no doubt the detractors will carp on about perceived injustices and 'better performances' until the stars fall out of the sky!

Personally, I'm delighted that Hayley won - she seems a dear little soul, she skated and performed beautifully throughout the series and has clearly worked extremely hard with her partner to reach the very high standard she and Dan attained.

Very worthy winners - many congratulations to them!

Isn't that the whole point though?

Def the best of the night but think the best boleros imo were kyrans, Clare, Chris and Ray

Where is it a required element in competitions? I'm a competitive skater and the only time I've seen toe picks mentioned under required elements has been when a toe loop, flip or lutz is listed . Are you confusing toe pick dancing with step sequences (which require good edges and turns)?

Hayley's Bolero was the best of the night by a clear mile and then some!

However compare her bolero to Rays or Suzannes, and I would have to say that Suzannes totally outshone Hayleys.

But Hayley without question deserved to win, and I felt sorry for Keiran and Gary as they were just blown away!

Interesting comments from Nicky's blog. He thought Gary's bolero was better. Think he has a point but actually prefer Kieron's from what I have seen.

I meant compared to Gary's. Compared to others that have gone before the mood and presentation wasn't the best.

Just seen Keirons Bolero and loved it, my fave on the night was Gary's. I prefered the male Bolero's as they seem to flow across the ice and that is how I see Bolero. I felt Hayleys lacked that as she had so many lifts.

Hayleys Bolero was very good, but I also liked Gary's. He put a lot of emotion in it. I voted for Hayley because I have enjoyed watching her very week.

I agree. I loved Suzanne's,Ray's and Jess's from the DVD.

I thought it lacked real passion, and was over comlicated. Nothing at all like Suzannahs where you felt the crescendo and Rays where it was so simple , and it was all in the unravelling of the story - and the passion- you really felt he and Maria had told the story. Have to say I agree with Nikki's verdit - she didn't do the best Bolero last night- but it wasn't bad either - but certainly not the best ever. Will be interesting to see what new Bolero Ray has made up with his new partner Alex for the tour - can he capture that same story without resorting to too many trick and complicated lifts? I think the tour should be very interesting this year as there are some very high quality contestants and suspect Ray will be kept on his toes.

I actually thought Hayley's Bolero, while decent enough, was probably her most disappointing skate of the night. Much as I dislike Gary, his Bolero was a definite step up, while Hayley's was a bit of a step down, and didn't really shine.

I think Kieron's is actually the most beautiful and tender of the three - it's a pity we didn't get to compare them all on the night...

I thought the fancy lift spoiled Suzanne's bolero, definately not the best. Loved Ray's and enjoyed Hayley's too.

I do think that the girls are at a disadvantage with Bolero - as T&D's choreography throughtout the competition tends to concentrate on skating for the guys and lifts for the girls - hence the girls will always be subject to 'too many lifts and tricks.'

Oh and kalouk - my latest post on DOI limericks is taking a long time to appear - but thanks for your kind words.

Though I was happy Hayley won, I too thought her Bolero was lacklustre. She hardly touched the ice and only skated on her own in split seconds. She makes great lines, though. Gary's Bolero was surprisingly better in all respects.

As for being the best one, I can't comment. I did like Ray's Bolero last year with his 'split' thing he did.

That's interesting - if it's Haley's Bolero against Ray, Gary or Chris F on tour, Nicky will probably vote for the boys

Hayley's performance was beautiful and I felt the emotion - Yeah I'm one on those wusses who crys at TV - I thought it was just the music getting to me, but Gary's didn't have the same effect and just left me cold.

The great thing about shows like DoI is that there's something for everyone and while Hayley's performance appealed to me, Gary's performnace appealed to other people.

Gary has never been my favourite, but when I saw that opening to Bolero - I just thought - 'Wow! That's really different - and very sexy!' Gave me goosebumps and he actually skated! I think on Bolero's alone - Gary should have won. But that's just my opinion!”

Mine too Mamboogie! His opening sequence was amazing and as you say very sexy, he also skated so much more through the whole series than a lot of the others, imo!

He just didn't have that wow factor and neither did Kieron. Now Hayley on the other hand
