I was a bit narked about Garys' daughter being brought in to catch votes. I'm glad that Hayley went on to win, on continuing (sp?) talent.

I cant believe the above posts, if you listen to the commentators it is they who kept bringing his daughter into the picture; Gary only mentioned in an earlier show and tonight - Completely nasty and unnecessary!

it may sound nasty to some but i admit i did say the same thing myself, i wasnt been nasty just commenting he does always mention his daughter,(i mean we had the video saying he was doing it for her, it came out when he was in the bottom 2 the first week, not saying he should not be proud of his daughter of course she is a cute little girl) though i do admit the voice over man did keep bringing her up too.

Good Lord,I cant believe the nastiness on this board this year, I really think some people need to take a reality check where this kind of programme is concerned.

Its supposed to be light entertainment, why all the nastiness and bashing, so Gary's little girl loves her Daddy and thinks he's the best in the world. Gary AFAIK does not do the filming or editing, he is not some sort of sub human being and does not deserve such nasty treatment, they are all there to entertain us which they did.

Personally I have enjoyed this series, with the exception of Jason Gardner who seems to have gone out of his way to be vile to certain contestants.Though I really did'nt mind who won I wished it was Gary just to p*ss off Jason.
If that guy is still there next year I will switch off.

Couldnt have put it better myself! If contestants have children they are often shown, I cannot see a problem at all he is a devoted dad what on earth is wrong with that, far better being a good parent than one who doesnt give a monkeys about their family!

Yes it came out in the first and last week from Gary - rest of the time Gubba mentioned her in the same way he mentioned Tana`s family in the audience the few weeks she was in the competition and we always saw Emily`s mum every week too.
David Seaman had his fair share of camera time when Frankie and Danny were there too.

Doesn`t Jason realise just how childish and pathetic he sounds ??

I was cringing when they played back some of the things he said to celebs throughout the series - it really is time he grew up and stopped acting as petulant as a child himself.

I would add, congratulations to all those pathetic women who voted for Gary just because they think he's fit, regardless of the fact he was mediocre all the way through. Makes me ashamed to be female.

LOL at the title. They certainly made a very big deal about the fact that he has a daughter. And I do think some people would vote purely on this.

For me (bar Week 3 when he accepted showing off at home) Gary is blameless for this. It's the production side/editing side who becamse very manipulative when it came to showing India at every opportunity.

Precisely, I think its utterly ridiculous now how these forums nit pick every little detail and comment about contestants to death, I personally could not care less why someone votes, but god help anyone in the future who dares to bring their families and kids along, what is wrong with people, it seems like they go out of their way if they dislike someone to find something to latch onto to lambast them.

I voted for Gary not because I am a pathetic women but because I enjoyed his routines and imo he skated far better than anyone else! His solo routine for example started straight away from the tunnel and included jumps and spins! He didnt wait until he got into the middle unlike the other three last week! Through the whole series he has skated far more often on his own, mirroring Maria, he didnt need holding up!
