sorry but i agree every week its oim doing it for my little girl with shots of her in the audience

then just before the final bolero vote a whole vt of india wants to be an ice skater and wants daddy to win

it was the only way he was going to do bolero

kieron should have had it as the better overall performer

garys skate was boring

I couldn't have agreed more with what Jason said, he was going on way too much about his daughter, yes she is lovely but it was too much.

I thought that too. And had just texted a friend saying the same thing when Jason made his comment.

Despite what some people are saying, I didn't think he was criticising the child but criticising Gary's use of his child as a vote-winning ploy.
I know producers decide how it is edited and shown but they couldn't do it if he hadn't been filmed with his daughter, talking about how he was doing it for her. As a professional actor he knows how the business works and presumably went along with it.

Gary is by no means the worst example of this (I'm thinking of X Factor and it's plethora of dead relatives) but he did seem to do it more than the others on this series.

Jason's remark was cutting (although by no means the worst thing he's said this series) but I think the point was valid.

Jason was 100% right, Gary was milking it big time & probably got the sympathy vote hence Jason's comment about it - Kieron was robbed imo, he was miles better than Gary. I don't buy this "I'm doing this for my kid(s)" crap, which is a phrase that seem to come up a lot in some of these reality shows. It's oh so corny!

Regarding last night Jason has posted this on Twitter:

Quote:
“Slightly shell shocked after last night's final of DOI. Off to prep for tomorrow's Raid the Rails on This Morning. So happy for Hayley&Dan”

http://twitter.com/OfficialJasonG

Shell shocked about Gary's reaction presumably?

Gary is a father who goes home to his daughter after he is finished training and working on the show, it's obvious for all of them that DOI becomes a huge part of their lives while their working on it, didn't Danniella move her partner into her home or something? It's bound to have an impact on the little girls life and she's bound to want to be involved when Gary gets home........why shouldn't he mention that.
Gary's little girl was in the audience every week to see her da but, I don't think there is one person out there that would hand on their heart say that they paid money and voted for Gary because or for his daughter.
I think it was a low blow even for Jason and Gary should have been able to enjoy the final but I bet that comment tainted it for him, as was shown when he commented at the end to Philip.

You can think that their was too much emphasis on his little daughter and think that Jason is not the one to mention it, at the same time.

I thought the same as many about the overkill and said so at the time. However, Jason is not there to comment on VTs or to twitter and tweet spitefully inbetween shows. It's his unprofessionalism that's wrong.

I agree. His sexuality has got nothing to do with my criticisms of him. If it did, then I would be nothing more than homophobic. And seeing as how one of my best friends is an openly gay man, I think I can safely say that I'm not homophobic.

That's the best comment I've read on the whole thing so far! Are we really expected to believe that, given the bile on here, the use of little India garnered any sympathy at all?

I just thought the whole focus on Gary and his daughter made him look even more one-dimensional than Jason made him out to be. He came across as funny, articulate and relaxed in training - why the relentless focus on his little girl? Surely the producers could've come up with a better angle than that?

Jason was typically way over the line when he drew attention to something that was very little to do with Gary and a lot to do with the producers.

And if ANYONE kept dragging their kids into it, it was Danniella 'oh I haven't done well this week, my daughter's been ill...', or Sharron 'my little girl got bullied over Jason's remarks...' or even Sinitta (or not ).

Nice to see all the hysterical parents (read straight people) forming like a pack off dogs to openly attack a gay man for daring to bring into question anything involving children. So transparent it's laughable. Even when what was said is 100% the truth that still doesn't make the gay man right to question a straight person's moral does it.

Hysterical parents: When they don't have a paedophile to invent from nothing they form a lynch mob and attack the gay people. (Even when they speak the truth)

Fact is that Gary used his daughter to get votes by aiming for some of the very same posters on this thread. It's not news as everyone has been going on about it for months and Jason has every right to point it out.

Still, why let reality and fact get in the way of a gay witchhunt by the "superior" baby producers? ”

So, if Jason was Jewish, anyone who thought he was a particularly vile, obnoxious character would be guilty of anti- Semitism ? No, he's a nasty piece of work, who just happens to be gay.
Craig Revel Horwood has the same task of being pantomime villain on SCD. He's gay, but in my opinion he's the best of the judges on that show. The difference is, Craig's comments are generally made tongue in cheek..his criticism can be harsh but it's done with good humour.

Have just seen this thread - a bit late now to post but IMO Jason's silly comments could quite easily have got Gary votes as the public could well have thought 'right I'll vote for Gary just to show Jason'!!!
I think it was uncalled for even if it was true. However, whoever edits the programme did go a little bit overboard with India's clips. My mum wanted to know what she was doing up at that time of night (bless!!)

Agreed. I think they used India because she was part of Gary's journey on the show and his reason for pushing on through (in much the same way as donnel last year did it for his kids cos they usually don't get to see his work). It did get a little tedious at times - but leave comments like that upto the forums and the tabloids and the blogs - it shouldn't come from a judge who is there to judge the ice dancing.

Gary was milking it? Did he have anything to do with the VTs? I would blame the producers as opposed to Gary himself. It certianly has nothing to do with his ice dancing wich is what Jason is there to judge - supposedly. Instead he seems to satisfy himself with snippy comments and tantrum throwing marks.

Exactly! Unnecessary comments not in any way related to skating, dancing or perorming! He has got above himself!
