1. Replace Emma & Nicky- Both with skating judges.
2. At the start of every results show have a singer and 4 pro's skating.
3. Give pro's who don't often get good partners get good ones (e.g. Fred, Andrei, Susie) and give pro's who get good partners bad ones (e.g. Maria, Daniel and Matt)
4. Ditch the flying replace it with a solo routine 1 min long choerographed by the pro partner.
5. In the semi-final you have to do one of T & D's old routines- NOT BOLERO. Bolero done in the final and the semi-finalists have to do another T & D routine e.g. Barnum - all couples will be given a different routine chosen randomly.
6. Keep props week but give better props e.g. suitcase.
7. Harder required elements- all done solo jumps, change of edge, spins. Mark them down for poor elements.
8. More theme nights including a week of proper ice dance like no overhead lifts night and a week of doing a proper dance e.g. Waltz, Tango.
9. Give them longer to train before the show.
10. Give a proper spin off like ITV 2 at 6:30-7:00 with interviews with T & D, pros, celebs and backstage stuff NOT presented by Coleen.

11. Let the pro choreograph the routine. No offence but TnD's stuff is becoming stale.

In the final, instead of the pairs choosing their favourite routine, get them to do their lowest scoring routine, so that they can be judged on how much they have improved.

No skate off in week one or the semi final.
Less celebs
Let pro's get more involved.

Only one thing I would change and that is get rid of Jason Gardner, his comments have not been constructive in any sense of the word - destructive more like! I am amazed that Gary has keep a smile on his face during his attacks on his performances!

Broadcast
1. Air the main show on Saturday night's at 7pm
2. Air the Results Show on Sunday night's between 7pm-8pm
3. Cut the ads down - other than the start and end of the show there should be at least two performances between each break
4. Air a nightly hour long catch up show on ITV2 (or maybe early evening on ITV1)

Presenters
I think it's time for Phil to be rested from the show. I'd love someone like Chris Hollins to present - someone with off the cuff humour and not so tied down by the autocue.

Judges
Drop Jason and Emma, bring in John and Sinead Kerr. If that's not possible (for understandable reason as they're competiting constantly), maybe Kyran Bracken and Bonnie Langford. I know it's like the Alesha issue on Strictly, but at least Kyran and Bonnie have experience of dancing on ice. Karen should not coach and be a judge - one or other.

Celebrities
Keep to 14 with a 12 week series. Try for at least a couple of 'big names'.

Pros
They should be allowed to choreograph their own routines instead of relying on Torvil and Dean. Also, a pair should be allowed to skate together each week on the Sunday results show.

Dances
Limit the number of lifts to per routine, and after week 4 the celebrity has to skate solo for a set period in each routine.

Get rid of Jason Gardiner. The man clearly can't remain impartial, he is too unconstructive and is downright rude and personal to the celebrities. Sadly though, I don't think it'll ever happen.

Make it more of an even playing field. It's been two years in succession where it's been obvious who the winner would be. So next year, the celebrities should not have an advantage of winning dancing competitions in the past, never skated before, and never have met their partner beforehand.

i think that they should actually train the contestants for more solo skating because if your doing it for over 5 months im surprised they arnt alot better tbh !

1. Ditch that sad wannabe (Jason, is it?)
2. Stop giving the "favourites" the best songs to dance to (you know what I mean if you look at Hayley's songs compared to all of the others'!!!!)
3. Get rid of Holly and Phil (Holly wears too many awful dresses and Phil is way too obvious about reading off a script)
4. When a good skater gets given their results, stop them faking looking shocked when they are totally aware what marks they are about to get!

I agree with those who say get rid of Jason - this is a family show and no need for his pathetic behaviour!

Skating judges don't necessarily know anything about whats entertaining on TV so having more of them would probably make things worse. Emma's doing a fine job and sets a better mood for the judging panel. She was also very successful getting rid of people who otherwise looked like staying past their skate by date.

There's a distinct lack of good routines. Jai Ho was but isn't a T and D creation.

There's a lack of length to routines which means not much happens - though with some it may be an answer to not much happening whatever. Music was 1/3 longer and it shows in terms of story or building up the drama.

They don't seem to progress in many ways. The boys and Daniella got better at what they could do but didn't push on. Hayley did her big wow lifts early and then had no more or damaged herself doing them. Props week wasted a week of possible progression. This year the big lifts Jessica and Zoe were too tall for were back but we only got a brief sample. The boys never got to the point of trying anything difficult like Chris or Kyran

That may be choregraphy or coaching - something needs to change there. Not sure what as pushing them seems to end in injury and the pro skaters may not be able to do a SCD and do their own choregraphy - the boleros suggest not except in Andrei's case with Clare if he did that one.

They also need to look at casting. older females wasn't a great idea, nor was tall ones. Very young males and females seemed not to work either . They might look at who has done well in terms of age, size and experience and have more of them - or at least two good ones so they have a race. They seem to have a real problem with finding males when two of their 3 best ones have skated a lot before and most simply can't dance or do any of the tricks needed.

More logical to find people who can dance and who are not tone deaf. You excluded the great majority of finalists and three winners above. Not many people are going to watch Donal v Colleen v Gary or Dr H.

No public voting in the semi final/final.....gets my vote.

Get rid of Emma Bunton, replace her with a professional skater or a guest judge every week.

Let the audience cheer Jason and boo the other judges.

I think they should all skate Bolero and cut out some of the adverts or repeated bits of the programme because after all, they have all rehearsed it for ages and have the costumes too and it's only a couple of minutes and seems such a shame not to let the losing couple dance it!

I also don't think 'close mates' should be allowed to skate together like Hayley and Dan because they've already got an advantage.

Replace Emma and Jason with judges who have been professional skaters or at least know about ice skating.
Get a presenter who will calm the audience down.
Use some decent music and stop using the show to promote certain singers.
Cut down the amount of contestants.

Snap!

I would add - get the contestants to skate more on their own instead of using their partners to help out.

But more than anything - get rid of Emma and if Jason is a must, then make him tone down personal attacks.

I think the first and maybe the second show no lifts should be done so we can see them skating more and judge on that.

Tell the audience not to clap and cheer when Jayne & Chris are performing, and make the camera men just focus on them and not the guests who are singing/playing instruments.

More pro routines, include the pros that have been eliminated early in the contest (e.g. Andrei & Susie could have done a routine this year), Jayne & Chris to do a routine once a fortnight instead of every week.

No skate off in the semi-final therefore no judges influence on who gets into the final

I like the idea already suggested of a different T & D routine for the contestants in the semi final - Barnum would be fun!

Do not wipe out all the votes after the first contestant has been eliminated, it's very unfair on those who have already voted having to vote again.

And on the same topic, the voting lines should not be re-opened until both contestants have performed Bolero, so people can judge the performances.

1) A daily 'backstage' show, like defrosted in the early series.

2) No skate-offs the first 2 weeks.

3) All finalists get to do their bolero, with the 3rd place couple just doing it for the performance. Like on Strictly 2008.

4) Hollyoaks to give their actors time off when they get to the semi final stage.

Get rid of the pathetic fool Jason Gardiner x 100

Limit the number of lifts to 3 per routine to force contestants to focus on their skating skills.

Have a proper daily show on ITV2 a la ITT but NO Coleen. Also bring back defrosted on show nights - if X Factor, BGT & I'm a celeb can have them, why not DOI.

Less padding & filler.

Ditch the flying.

Replace 1 of the 'performance only' judges. Am torn a bit as to which one. Emma doesn't really add anything & whilst Jason makes more valid comments, his venom & his unprofessional behaviour in his tweeting & comments in the press have really put me off him.

Producers really need to be careful about the casting as after the last 2 years the show is desparate for the type of competition we got in series 2 & 3. Am not entirely sure it's all their fault though. At the start of this series it looked promising but some didn't progress as much as you would have hoped so it was obvious in the last few weeks that Hayley & Dan were almost certain to win.

Like more dancing on ice and less lifting on ice.

Not fond of the flying and bolero has been done to death.

Think the pros and partners should have more input in the routines.

Like Robin to comment more and Jason less.

Less filler.

Wouldn't miss Philip and Holly.

Its a tired old formula, and I am glad its over.

I won't be watching next year unless there are some drastic changes, Most have been said already and I agree with most of them

Less shouting
Pros to choreograph routines
More exposure for the pros
No flying
No bolero
No Jason Gardiner
Limited lifts
No props
More structure in scoring

Totally agree with this. Choosing their best/favourite routine is aneasy option.

Also get rid of Nicky Slater - what does he actually bring to the show?
