Cheryl Cole's miming going too far?
She's now taking her miming overseas to the French version of the "live lounge"
Miming to the same pre-record for FFTL as she did on The X Factor - http://le-6-9.nrj.fr/news-3342/news-...this-love.html No excuses here: no dancing, she's not sick, she's in a studio built FOR live singing on a show about singing live. And still mimes. |

I see your point and agree whole-heartedly. It's wrong, as you say it is called the 'live' Lounge. But, she can't really sing, so what choice does she have?

She really needs to a) give up b) record songs she can actually sing or c) just be honest. If she's going to mime she should just come out and say it, and if people want to continue to listen then no one can really complain. |

& she had the songs, & the spectacle to back-up her miming. Cheryl cannot sing. She could never hold a decent tune & never will. End of. |

This girl makes it really difficult for me to like her.

It shows that talentless hacks like her get ahead of more genuinely talented artists, just because she has the looks!

You know what? FFTL is quite hard to sing, but Parachute and 3 Words are soo easy.
Well, she did an "OK" job of 3 words live on her night in, but it was still very weak. |

It's worrying for her career that she has to mime such easy songs to sing. Mind you though, anyone who heard her attempt at Fireflies on Live Lounge last week knows that Cheryl knows how to fail at the simplest of songs...
I wouldn't even mind but she judges talent, and she judges it by means of their live performance skills. Oh, the hypocrisy

Parachute is the easiest imo, and then FFTL. |

Oh, the hypocrisy ![]() I'm judging her live performance skills here and I'll be the first to admit I couldn't do any better myself either. You don't need to be able to sing that well yourself to judge others abilities, and she does have experience in the industry. And of course at the end of the day, it's The X Factor, hardly a credible contest for talent! |

See I don't have a problem with that.

I'd have no problem with her commenting on other acts and I don't have any problem with people like ourselves judging artists' abilities, but it's a different issue when it's actually affecting the aspiring singers in question. |

Yes, but if you were on live television deciding whether or not an artist gets a 1-million-pound recording contract, based on your own judgement of live performance skills, you can see why people would have a problem with it.

I said in another thread, she isn't a good judge, but that's got nothing to do with her singing ability, she's just really thick. |

My point is her ability to sing (or not) has no relevance to how good of a judge she is. Neither Simon or Louis can sing, and Dannii isn't exactly the next Leona. Cheryl has been performing, touring and recording for years - plus, she's been through the process herself. That's why she is a judge, it's not because Simon, Cheryl or the producers think she is a good singer.

Come on, she can sing live. Who do you think was singing live in all the Girls Aloud shows she's done?? OK plenty of it is backing track but she sang all her parts just like the other girls. Fight For This Love probably sounds crap with her singing it live, it's as simple as that.
