What a con!

I'm so pleased Hayley won and Gary/Kieron made the final but I have to say I'm fuming at how the votes reverted to zero after Kieron was eliminated. There was no need for it. Votes already cast should have gone forward.

Yet more evidence of money grabbing production chiefs conning the public.

Or perhaps an incentive to both couples that it's all still to play for?

It's the usual format for the voting in most reality tv finals though

In BB etc they don't wipe the slate clean. They have always done it on DOI though.

Do they release the vote percentages for DoI?

I suspect that 'wiping the slate clean' makes it a little bit fairer when there's an obvious winner and allows for a vote to be more or less based on the bolero skate. If they hadn't done this then both last year and this year the result would have been decided already before the final skate.

I agree that it's a con.

If someone had voted for Gary and he stayed in the 1st round, then if you really wanted him to win then the 2nd round it would have been like you had never voted.

Glad Kieron made the final though.

Yes its also interesting how Hayley had more time for her votes than Gary. They opened the lines pre Bolero so Hayley had a fair time for votes to go her way before Gary danced.

The whole evening was right for a Hayley win.
Keiron on first so people forget quickly, Gary on last in final vote so recieves least vote time post Bolero.

Weren't too bothered by the reset, though we were voting for Kieron so didn't need to vote twice

Thats the logic but they ruined it by opening the vote before the boleros - presumably as the show would have needed to be longer still to allow voting time after. They couldn't put the returning contestants on after Bolero as they needed time for everyone to recover and change so it would have needed something new. As it was what they did undermined the logic of starting the vote up again.

If the intention was a level playing field why open the lines as soon as Kieron was eliminated? Surely if it was to let viewers judge the best bolero they would have waited until after Hayley and Gary skated.

Just a way to make more money and force Gary and Hayley fans to vote more than once.
