Thought his contract had been renewed ?

I hope he has been fired, but we couldn't be that lucky!

Oh dear - is it finally dawning on Mr Nasty that his comments aren't appreciated by a lot of people??

His horrid analogies insults and public comments about his colleagues have made him a liability!

Or a last attempt to get into the papers:yawn:. We'll see what happens next year, I'm not hopeful, too much publicity.

He's spoiled this series for me.... and I can't believe that everyone involved in making DOI is so spineless that they let him carry on, only thousands of complaints from the public forced them to make him apologise for what he said to Sharron Davies. I am sure that when the celebs sign up for DOI, having to endure personal insults thrown at them and their families isn't part of their contract!

Hope so.

I really hope this story is true as I can't stand him. Bring back Michael Ball in his place. Positive critisism is more appreciated in my household. I thought Emma was great this series.

If Gardiner is axed - I shall jump for joy and watch DOI next year. He has ruined it for me this year with his nasty, spiteful comments. He has shown how just unprofessional he is time and time again.

If his ugly face rears itself again on DOI I shall switch off as soon as it appears. Nasty piece of work.

yes lets have 5 people who cant say anything negative about anyone and turn it into stepford wives on ice

I hope he does go. The contestants need positive encouragement and not his sort of disgusting put downs. He makes the programme difficult to watch sometimes.

Get rid of him and the awful flying and the programme will be perfect.

Constructive criticism is one thing .... nasty, spiteful unnecessary comments are something else.

Jason should learn to do the former ... and then he might become a valued member of the panel.

I would have the panel

Karen
New Judge
Jason
Jayne or New Judge
Chris or New Judge

I would remove Robin as head judge cause he clearly had favourites. He marked Emily very high and Mikey very low and I'm a fan of both. Then he told the other judges a fall in the skate off didn't count which was unfair.

Matt Evers tweeted this yesterday!

As a PROFESSIONAL ice skater.... Jason has NO idea about reality! Start with his wardrobe first!

Wow. The claws are out now, aren't they. I can't say I'm surprised, I would like to be a fly on the wall when the professionals get together. .

Not at all, Nicky, Emma and at times Robin have all been critical of contestants this year, but they were at least constructive with it and did it with the intention of getting better results from the skaters, rather than grabbing attention / headlines / airtime for themselves (actually I take it back about Nicky... some of his marks have been all over the place)

I hope he is

Yes i know they will want the 'Mr Nasty' judge but he takes it too far, especially with his rants on Twitter this year.

Even if he did it with style and wit, there would be some point in him. As it is, there is none.

I remember Sharron saying that Jason not only didn't talk to the celebs but didn't talk to the pros either which I found incredible. I wonder if that's why he doesn't do the tours now if he doesn't mix with any of the skaters. Idiot.

Am glad that pros are starting to speak out against him.

Yes, this could all backfire on him. It's the producers' fault, if they had reigned him in, he wouldn't have had the feeling of "I'm invincible".

Completely agree, they've indulged him way too much this year. If he doesn't get canned, let hope they'll stick some kind of gagging order on him next year that will, at least, prevent him from spouting his oh-so-unbiased views on Twitter / to the press.

Being cynically realisitic here, it was only about 400 complaints according the the article above...

And was that apology given because they thought it right? Or thought it would drag out the story more?

Because DOI has definitely struggled for ratings this year and probably relished the publicity...

Sometimes he takes the Mr Nasty image too far and becomes Mr Personal - its not funny, clever or necessary
