Oh, I think there are plenty of judges out there who are ready to say what they think and aren't inclined to be nice for the sake of it.

And just because you can't think of someone to replace Jason doesn't mean there isn't anybody. I mean, being a total nobody with an observant eye and a turn of phrase worked for Jason, why couldn't we replace him with a similar unknown?

When people say they agree with Jason, or think his comments are accurate, etc, I wonder what they are agreeing with.

Do they just mean that when Jason says someone is dull, or has given a good performance, that they agree?

Or do they also agree with his insulting comments?

How about when he makes a big deal about some relatively unimportant detail as if it were somehow the most important thing about their performance, as if getting your hands in positions he approves (for example) were more important that becoming a stronger skater?

There seems to be a chain of thought in this thread from certain posters that they want Jason to stay because he 'tells it like its is' and 'isn't afraid to speak his mind'. Sorry, but I have never bought into the whole 'speaking without regard for peoples feelings' thing is a good attribute in a person. Yes, there's stating the facts, and yes there's being unashamed of what people think, but what about respect, tact, empathy and compassion? Some of the things Jason comes out with are so, so rude and disrespectful; there are ways and means of getting your point across without being cruel, but he often bypasses that completely in favour of spitting some insulting metaphor or another - and it's not clever, or witty or pithy, it's just plain bad manners.

As Oscar Wilde said "any man who calls a spade a spade should be made to use one, it's all he's fit for!"

I agree. So I voted YES!

Trouble is it would be forgetful and boring. You would lose the majority of the audience who aren't ice skating affecianados, and Hey Presto, no more DOI.

But you would be spared the offence:yawn:

You're assuming that viewers watch simply to see and hear Jason being unacceptably rude and arrogant.

No. He's a cheap Simon Cowell clone who creates buzz for the show with his catty comments. However, both he and Emma do seem more preoccupied by the contestant's looks than their performance at times.

Do you really think he would be missed that much ?..can't see it myself.
I think he's a fairly dull character apart from his silly neckwear. He does not possess much of a personality, and I've seen no evidence of sparkling wit from Jason..I'm sure thay could find someone more appealing to the public.

Agree completely.
Jason is just plain rude and nasty.
Constructive critisism is needed, not personal insults IMVHO.

Yes, he goes too far IMO.

Yes! He's so annoying, and Nicky has been gradually filling Jason's "bitchy queen" position nicely this series.

In your opinion.

At least he actually has skating experience, unlike Emma Bunton.

I said yes, not because of his nasty comments (which are a bit panto) but because of his total arrogance in not recognising that two high achieving ice dancers and one world champion figure skater might actually be more qualified to judge than he is.

Jason Say's nasty stuff on DOI but to be fair it's not as bad as some of the things I have read.At least he stands by what he has said and doesn't hide behind a computer and post crap on the Internet or write cheap articles in papers.

Keep Jason but have him at the rehearsal so they can get an idea of what he will say, so it can be modified if it goes too far.

No, he should stay - give constructive criticism by all means but refrain from making personal insults and name-calling to the contestants, its uncalled for.

It's not a bad idea, but I can't see Jason sticking to an agreement to tone stuff down if he didn't think it was all that bad in the first place. There'd be nothing they could do if he agreed to tone it down and then just went ahead and said whatever he liked on the live show.

No, he hides behind a TV programme, twitter and quotes to newspapers - all protection. I'd like to see him insult someone face-to-face without an organisation to back him up or protect him. I can see a couple of black eyes and a broken nose then.

People wouldn't make comments about him if he didn't make such vile, unnecessarily insulting comments about others who are not in a position to relatiate.

No! That's from someone who isn't really a fan of his! It's been a dull, dull series! Without Jason it would have been even worse! He divides people, but he does get them talking, look at how many posts on this forum, are about Jason! Changes need to be made on DOI, but I don't think Jason going, is one of them.

I don't think being rude or offensive is "entertaining" TV - this year I have recorded the programme so that I can fast forward through the judges comments especially Jason's as I am more interested in the skating/dancing than I am in what he says

Jason has fans?

Jason makes the series duller. His predictable put-downs and ridiculous eye-rolling are not entertaining or thought provoking. The producers need to stop casting ringers, and cast more interesting contestants (maybe some that actually have time to invest in learning to skate properly).

Or maybe I need to stop watching

From my personal point of view, Jason puts a downer on things, polluting the atmosphere for me and for everyone I know. I feel it should be a happy, fun-filled show along with the excitement, glamour and friendly competition.

We don't think that Jason brings much to the table and that there are many, many, much better applicants for the job. He's lucky to have it and might at least try to enjoy it. Strange man. (No gay jibe from this direction! )
