She's really evolved from the R&B stuff she was doing before! Love!

It's not the first Dance track Kelis has jumped on so it's not really anything new to her. Still though, wicked tune and cool video

Kelis totally rocks and this is her absolutely on form. Just awesome.

I love the way she can fall off the radar then bounce back stronger than ever. I've lost count of the times she's done that now. A genuine talent.

But utterly hilarious that some of the comments on Youtube are trying to make out she's copying Lady Gaga! Pur-lease! Kelis pushed the boundaries - end of. Gaga may give great image but her music ain't so groundbreaking ... and she couldn't come up with a video as cool and uplifting as this (especially the very end!).

I dont think we should compare end of: they're doing completely different stlyes of music and gaga has done her fair share of pushing the boundaries in quite a few of her songs and her next album is meant to be a different style and her videos are ground breaking but thats not to say kelis isn't doing it too buh in other ways! so i dont think its fair to compare as they're totally different artist both amzing in their own right!

I really like this song. Have been quite a fan of her music for a good few years (her chart songs).

She always comes back with somthing different. Its getting good play on Radio 1.

Everyone forgets Lady Gaga isn't exactly original herself. People like Grace Jones and Bjork were doing this WAAAY before she came onto the scene.

Ugh, I hate how everyones getting compared to Gaga nowadays, its ridiculous. Don't they realise that Gaga wasn't the first person in the world to wear slightly weird clothes? Besides, the Kelis video is aesthetically and musically completely different to anything Gaga has ever done.

Amazing song anyway. It reminds me slightly of that Finest Dreams song she did with Richard X years ago, but even better. I think the end bits really sweet, when its obvious she's singing to her baby rather than a man.

I agree with all of that. Fantastic song, fantastic video. Sick of the obsessed Gaga fans thinking that she started everything.

Hello! Even I have my enthusiastic moments and 'Acapella' is FIERCE.

I'm not knocking Lady Gaga as such - more the idiots on Youtube who tried to make out Kelis was ripping her off. Gaga is OK but - and I can't profess to have heard her entire repertiore - her music rather sits in the shadows of her visuals. If she has a few more tricks up her sleeve, then good for her.

And while I wouldn't say either of them are as pioneering as Grace Jones, Siouxsie Sioux or Kate Bush (Bjork? Pur-lease), they (and La Roux) are the nearest we currently have to genuinely interesting female artists ... and streets ahead of the BRITS-sponsored conveyor belt (you know who I mean ... ).

Love the video, cannot get enough of the song.

Hope it's a big hit for her, if she's getting Radio 1 Airplay hopefully it'll be picked up as an early Summer anthem, Its perfect for a few remixes to keep it going all summer as well.

i love Acapella!!!
Kelis has done some amazing R&B in the past but this is a gigantic leap forwards in terms of style and rhythm, this is going to be a definite smash and worldwide hit i hope i want to get her album Flesh Tones, it sounds like my style of music and Kelis is the reason for why Beyonce is so commercial and overrated. Kelis IS feirce, she IS creative and she IS pop art! i want her album to get as much promotion as it can, it sounds like it could be a modern epic! so glad i heard it today!

Christina's Bionic album is also going to be a major hit worldwide, such an amazing woman she is! and am now a converted kelis fan.
made my week, i also have Madonna's Sticky & Sweet Tour on the way! try and hold me down!!

yeah defo pre-order the Flesh Tones album, it also shows a different production that we're used to hearing with Guetta which is also interesting.
also the video is haunting as it is wacky and tough! similar to Madonna's Ray Of Light era combines with that Bjork surrealism and Kate Bush living art in her video's.
i think it is going to be Kelis' big break! it is a corker!

Every post about Beyonce from you is just bashing

Anyway, Beyonce has sold millions, won awards, broken records, bagged grammys before Kelis came to the scene so i don't know how Kelis is the reason Beyonce is so commercial and overrated .. doesn't make sense?!!!

and please make sure you don't forget Beyonce in every post you write

but her visuals do nothing for me... its her music that in (rather begrudgingly) have to admit to liking!

yeah she and others leave the pop conveyor belt of bland girly wannabes exactly where they belong... miles behind!

Are you saying Bjork ISNT pioneering? Shes one of, if not THE most innovative artists of our time...

I love the song although I was a bit disappointed when I first heard it. The opening is a bit misleading as it sounds like a generic poppers o'clock anthem then it builds into quite a subtley beautiful song. Kelis has always been wacky - but naturally so...Gaga could learn from her

I'm saying she owes an awful lot to Kate Bush and Siouxsie Sioux - to name but two ...

Um, Kelis released her first album in 1999 - Beyonces solo album came in 2003, by which time Kelis was on her 3rd.
