Morning all,

I was wondering, does anyone who has a 6600 use it successfully as a sort of MP3 player? Or can it not handle music of that sort of quality?

If anyone has managed this i'd be interested to know what software they use for the conversion.

thanks n

Go to http://www.my-symbian.com

You can get MP3 Player programs for it there... and much much more.

Why would you want to bother using the 6600 as an MP3 player??? It's only able to reproduce mono sound due to Nokia being tighter then a cat arse and the sound is shit... You would be better buy a cheap MP3 player (it's got more memory)

Well my 6600 has a 256SD card.

I found a player for free that can play mp3 at reasonable bit rates (unlike the built in real player,) sound is OK but not great.

SD card? The 6600 only supports MMC

It's interesting you say that actually, i have a number of SD & MMC cards for various devices, everything else i have takes both. So i just put in a spare. I didn't know that it didn't take SD.

I only baught the MMC cos i'm tight.

There are many MP3 players listed on My-Symbian and Handango.
I hope no-one goes into details of how to obtain this software for free.

I use it everyday when walking my dog for music. Plug hands free in, and load Ultra MP3 up and away i go. Being mono is not a problem as its safer when walking to have 1 ear on music and 1 ear on things going on around you. Quality i am happy with for what i use it for.Ultramp3 i have found is the best player.
