Hiya Guys ...
Forgive me,but I am a bit of a late convert to all things Apple, and hence i'm a newbie.
Was wanting to know, that when I purchase an album from iTunes, what sort of quality will it be?
128,192,or 320 kbps ...?
As it doesn't inform you, before commiting to a purchase..
Thanks in advance

Just checking some that I purchased and it varies. Gabrielle album was 128 kbps but Paulo Nutini was 256 kbps, as was Leona Lewis!

At my age it doesn't matter but younger ears might be more discerning.

I dont think you can compare the bitrate of an AAC file with that of a MP3 file

An AAC with 128kbps will be better quality than a MP3 at the same bitrate.

Near enough all music purchased from the iTunes store is in AAC format at 256kbs. Apple claim that it is near studio quality, but I can't tell the difference between 256kbs AAC and 320kbs MP3.

All the music on the the iTunes store is now 256kbps AAC VBR. Amazon MP3 is also good quality. Amazon is sometimes cheaper and the program it uses to download automatically adds them to iTunes. Amazon also uses MP3 so it is guaranteed to work on all players even though most players do play AAC now. So check both places first. The more I use the two the more I am starting to prefer Amazon.
