I don't think so, no, it's the same console from different angles.

Do you think it might be a case of trying different 'desktop themes' until he finds one he likes?

Don't think so, don't look any different to me

the gatefold cover on Radio Times is great!

Are you sure?

The pictures of them standing near a green upright post (2, 4 & 5) isn't them standing next to a console it's them standing below the raised glass floor upon which the console stands.

That post is the support for the floor.

Radio Times made a massive blunder when comparing it to past Tardises!

Tom is of course the Fourth Doctor, not the Third.

Oops! You're quite right!

Ignoring the senile whitterings of this old fool. I'll look at it with my glasses on next time...

Nurse! It's time for my medication.....

Must agree - it is more different than it looked initially.

Still not keen on the raised platform with no safety barriers - it would never pass a health and safety inspection!

We can't wait!”

That post just made me very happy

I certainly prefer it to the Eccleston one, but I still miss the more intimate classic white one.

The steampunk console is something I had hoped they would get rid of....

looks good to me, the most hi tech Tardis to date and they've corrected the lack of door to other part of the Tardis that the Ecclestennent Tardis had.

I hope they get rid of the bouncing around when the Tardis is in flight thing, I found that a bit irritating tbh, and I wonder if the regenerated Tardis still has remote locking as seen in the penultimate 10 episode or was that just a gimmick scene?

Will the doors be opened with a clicking of the fingers again? Or will that plot idea from the Moff just be lost in time and space?

I love the whole look and getting really excited.
I like that the swivel screen has turned into a screen that
comes down.

Death Star superlaser technician 2: Yeah, I know. I've almost fallen over that thing so many times. So what'd they say?
Death Star superlaser technician 1: Get this: they said they're worried we'd be leaning all day.
Death Star superlaser technician 2: They said that?
Death Star superlaser technician 1: Yeah.
Death Star superlaser technician 2: Well, none of this will matter when we're famous singers.”

they made such a big thing about destroying the original that I think we were all expecting a totally different design but you take the stairs away and chances are you'd be hard pressed to notice much of a difference .Personaly I'd of gone with a different colour scheme (perhaps a blue) .No doubt when we see it on screen it will look much better but just looking at those photos it looks a bit to much like a studio/stage.

Incidentally, when ever the TARDIS is on its side (for example from the promo pics from Eleventh Hour) I wonder if the Doctor has to go around the quite vast interior tidying things up. The galley for example must be a tip with crockery everywhere unless he still relies on Hartnell's food dispenser machine

I think I read that the barriers were taken off for the shoot, but do exist. Though I could be misremembering something I read two days ago now quite easily....

Somebody pointed out in another thread that the internal gravity in the TARDIS works separately from external gravity, so unless that circuit is fried it shouldn't upset things inside.

It’s not really necessay though as the doors always seem to lock automatically whenever the Doctor leaves the TARDIS. It could be on a catch?

I’m almost certain we’ll see that again. The only reason the Doctor did it was because River tells him he does it a lot in the future. Beautiful paradox Moffat crreated there!

If the Doctor doesn’t click the doors open, I’ll be really disappointed because I thought it was a truly excellent idea. It illustrates that the Doctor has a connection to his machine. It’s quite iconic. It also brings a new regular feature to the series.

I think one day the “click” will be almost as famous as the TARDIS itself, and kids in the future will look back to Silence In The Library in awe at the way River tells him he does it all the time in the future, and the Doctor’s historical first click. That scene will get cooler to watch the further into the future you go.
