I was really hoping for a scene like this:
The Doctor is “showing off” to Amy and showing her a selection of “themes”, to see which she likes. This would include some of the old ones (to which she reacts, for example: “too white!”). They both agree that the new one is their favourite (“goes with my hair” or something).
You don’t really need much budget for this kind of effect, especially if the camera is satatic. You just put various backgrounds in behind them and change the lighting slightly. These days, that’s pretty easy to do.
I hope we at least see the TARDIS interior actually changing with them standing in the room. I think it’s about time we saw this.

Don’t know where I heard this but:

I always just assumed that when the TARDIS is physically shook or damaged on the outside then that is transferred to the inside by the same mechanism that allows people to walk in and out of the TARDIS.
Consider this: if you opened the TARDIS door and it was very windy outside, you wouldn’t expect the wind to stop dead at the doorway, you’d expect the force to carry through to the inside. Likewise, if the door can be hammered by wind, or some other force, on the outside, this can also be heard or even felt on the inside to some degree.
While the inside and outside of the TARDIS may be tow completely different locations (or dimensions), that doesn’t mean they are completely unconnected. Because we know that they
are connected, by a door at the very least.
