Didn't they mention him giving them advice for one of their routine. It was right back at the start I think?

There was an article about Hayley and her fiance in either OK or Hello back in January

Though Daniel isn't quite right about the straight sixes making history, as Haley got them in week 9 (I think) and Ray got them in week 6 (And might have got them earlier if Robin hadn't capped his scores)

I don't think she's in love with him - they are great mates, some of their routines were romantic/told a love story/required them to portray intimacy. Hayley's an actress, and, imo, was just getting into the spirit of the routines.
She's obviously managed to portray exactly what she intended.

People kept expecting T&D to announce their engagement, but they later said that that's the nature of what they do; sometimes they have close, intimate routines to do, but they were, and are, best mates.

It was the standing ovation from the judges that made history.

Ray got a standing ovation after his Bolero

Did he?

Well why did Robin say that it was the first time the judges had spontaneously stood up after a contestant's routine?

While Kieron might be obviously gay, I had no idea that Dan was either.

What a waste!!!

a) He isn't 'obviously gay'.
b) What an outdated cliché that makes you sound homophobic.

i had no idea either of them were gay, you could tell they were kinda in touch with their feminine sides but that's as far as i could tell.

both seem really nice lads.

He is to me, and just because I recognise that doesn't make me homophobic.

Still, you carry on in that narrow-minded judgemental world of yours if it makes you happy.

Why is it a waste? I'm sure his partner doesn't think so.

Maybe you could explain why you think it is a 'waste' that he is gay then.

Fantastic irony in calling me 'narrow minded' and 'judgemental' btw

Good grief, it was a little humour, which is completely lost on you from what I can see, to say "what a waste" (I won't bother wearing out the quote button anymore than it's already been).

If you dare to step out into the big wide world away from your keyboard warrioring, you'll find that when men are found to be gay, women who like them tend to say this as it means they can't have a little fantasise any more.

And if you care to prejudge someone who've you've never met, then you are judgemental and narrow-minded for suggesting I'm homophobic when in reality you haven't got a clue and couldn't be more wrong.

If I said I could easily distinguish between a duck egg and a goose egg, would it make me ovaphobic? Of course not *sigh*.

Recognising a difference does not mean that someone is prejudiced against people with those differences.

I have friends who are gay and it's easy to tell. It may be a gay "stereotype", but sometimes (often, in my experience) the stereotype does fit.

I often tell one of my male friends that it's a waste that he's gay and he takes it as a huge compliment and we laugh about it.

There are many types of gay just as there are many types of heteros. There was, and still is, I hope, a very soft-voiced comic called Duncan Norvelle (I think that's right) who had a vey camp act in the obvious sort of way. His catchphrases were "You can't take your eyes off me, can you?" and "Chase me!" Anyone remember him?

Confusingly, he isn't gay.

LotteBronte, I would never have thought Dan was gay. ETA Did you mean the contestant or the pro? I meant the one who took off his shirt! Not that I think all gay men are camp, you understand, I just wouldn't have thought he was gay.

I imagine she's meaning Dan the pro! Danny the celeb definitely isn't gay.

I don't think there's anything wrong with suggesting some people are fairly obviously gay. You can never be 100% sure, but often it doesn't exactly take a genius to work it out. And clearly, either way, it's not a bad thing to think of someone.

Thanks Eejit. I was right about Dan(ny) in that case. As for Dan, I assumed he was gay.

I don't think it makes you homophobic just because you might be able to mainly correctly guess who is gay and who is not. I remember taking my daughter to an open day at a uni, along with a female friend of hers and a gay male friend (she always seems to have a gay "best friend" at any given time). I found it absolutely hilarious having the 3 of them eying up the potential male talent. He even congratulated me that I seemed to have a very good gaydar and didn't seem the least bit put out that I was trying to help him work out which were gay.
