Last Wednesday i had my O2 phone bill and was shocked to find it was £77!! usually its only about £25, so i rang o2 and they said it wa because i had exceeded my allowance of minutes.

They then offered the new online tariff to me telling me it would be cheaper for me, where i would get 600 x net mins, unlimited texts and unlmited 02 to 02 calls which would be great for me, so i took up the offer and was told it would change over in 24 hours - well it didnt and ive phoned 3 times since and everytime ive been told it will be 'ready for you tomorrow', so i am now waiting to see if it goes on tomorrow.

has anyone else had this problem??

EDIT: i have always been an online customer.

As far as I know, with the online tariffs. The change should take place from your next bill. However, if you are adamant they have a way of forcing the change through more quickly. But its more complicated to do and if there is a backlog then it can be a few days. Note that when you get your next bill, you will see part months and pro-rata charges, so sit down and read it carefully to make sure you understand.

No, but thank for the heads-up as I have just changed mine on Sunday! I find with o2 they have great tarriffs (the one i just signed up to is like yours unlim texts + unlim o2-o2 but only 300mins - sim only for £10 a month) but they change them all the time, you need to stay on the ball and keep looking out for better tarriffs. I used to be on a one-month contract and after about 18 months discovered they had doubled the text allowance for the same cost since I joined ... who knows when?? Still, I suppose its not down to them to look after my interests is it Anyway they told me on Sunday the new tariff would be active one day before my next bill so I'll look out. Cheers

You don't get inclusive picture messages with the new tariff or free texts abroad.

You also get less minutes, unless you sign up for a year, which in my opinion, defeats the point of Simplicity.

I'm sticking with the old tariff until another network offers something of similar value.

UPDATE: Its been changed over, confirmed by call to O2 CS and checking online billing this morning, lady at at O2 said it changed on 29/03/10, so as mentioned above it might of been a 3 day backlog that needed clearing. So im quite pleased for now, hope I get a good deal when i upgrade in the next couple of months too
