Going to Apple store With iPhone problem
My iPhone seems to have some dust inside the screen and I have made an appointment for friday but I got the phone over the phone from o2, do I need to notify them that I am going in or would they send me there anyway?
also what sort of bits do I need to take with me to appointment? Thanks |

1st thing you should do is sync your iPhone with your computer to make sure all the up to date information is backed-up.
o2 do not need to be informed about you bringing the phone into the Apple store. Your just cutting out the middleman and saving yourself a weeks wait. Is the phone under warranty? If it is under warranty then chances are you will walk out of the Apple store with a replacement phone, you will be there less than 10 minutes. You might need I.D. with you, cant remember, just bring your passport of driving license to be safe. |

If you jailbreak, just be aware that the replacement will probably be OS 3.1.3 , so something to bear in mind...

You would only need to inform O2 (if the handset is changed) if you have the insurance.

I did the same with a dock connector problem. Took it into the Apple store and it was swapped same day.
The only thing I had to do - if you have used BTOpenzone or The Cloud wireless networks, you'll have to phone o2 customer services and tell them that you've had your phone replaced by apple. They have to remove the MAC address of your old phone against your phone number. |
