OTA Update for Sagem DTR94xx Range
Sagem UK
30-03-2010
Dear customers,

Please be advised that DTG are broadcasting a new software version for the Sagem DTR 94xx range.

Once your Freesat DTR set top box has detected the new software update you will be asked to confirm the download with "OK". Please be advised that in some cases it might take up to half an hour until your set top box detects the new broadcast.

Following our local testing, all of our test units have managed to download the new software within about 10 minutes. However, should you have any problems with either the broadcast or the software please contact our helpdesk on 08450 900 316.

Thank you once again to all users of the Digitalspy forum for the valuable feedback of our products. We will continue to take your comments on board and improve our products where possible.

Why do you say they are rubbish? Have you tried one? I have got a 94500 and I am more than happy. Initial setup within less than 5 minutes, clear and simple menu and great picture quality. and the EPG speed is great!

I think we should be a bit more objective here and ask people who actually bought one!

Any other members with real experience?

I have to agree with John. I myself have been very pleased with a Freeview DTR from Sagem and therefore considered staying with the brand when going Freesat.

Even though the Humax alternative initially seemed quite tempting too I have decided to go for the Sagem after having played with both units during a visit at the Ideal Home exhibition a few days ago. In the Freesat lounge I was allowed to do some testinig to get a better picture of usability and functions - great opportunity

The Sagem is easy to use, and the box tells you exactly what to do! And in my case I liked the personal recording folder option (create your own folders to avoid one long recording list) which allows me to create a "children" folder for my son and lock my own adult folder. The Humax could not offer this feature.

And of course, the Sagem comes at a much cheaper price than the Humax.

couldnt agree more. This freesat+ forum has become a bit of a HUMAX fan club with people rubbishing the box that they havent got.

Fair enough for along time the HUMAX was the only real option so there will naturally be a huge installed based compared to the Sagem. However just saying "I heard its rubbish" is simply because you have made a different choice and you prob mean "I hope its rubbish 'cause I paid a lot more for an early entrant."

I bought the Sagem for £ 179 with 2 year warranty from John Lewis. Early days but it seems brill, great picture, super fast menu and guide and just about every feature that the HUMAX has.

I bought a budget Sagem Freeview PVR a couple of years ago for my girlfriend and it has proved to be far more reliable than my more up market one - I tried to hate it but it just got better and better with every software update and is so reliable. So I have to admit I have very good experience of the brand and have high hopes for this freesat+ box - we shall see...

Antenna1, where did you find the reviews? I could not find anything in these forums...

Thanks

We ran one at the Gadget Show Live all week. It scans faster than the Humax and produced excellent PQ on both SD & HD. The PC World Stand sold all they had on the back of the demo.
